Does anyone else feel like the Fatui might be the good guys after the "We will be reunited" arc? Well I think genshin will mess up all definitons of good and bad in the future, but imo the Fatui are at least not bad/evil

I have doubts. Why steal the gnoses from the gods? Sure, I understand the unwilling ones. But Zhongli was apparently on board with what they're doing, since he kinda did... the whole contract thing. But if that's the case, why not just have Zhongli himself help them? He lost his gnosis and can't protect Liyue anyways, so may as well leave for whatever fight he agrees with and then return, or fake his death in that fight and retire like he did. I get the feeling this is more like the better of two evils, no one is good. Celestia, the fatui, the abyss, no one. We don't have to choose either side. Lets not forget, the fatui harbingers and fatui derive pleasure from harming others (Childe especially has an addiction to fighting), that's not the sign of being "the good guys." Celestia is susp as all hell and the abyss... They seem the most promising to be the "secret good guys" but even then, they randomly attack civilians so that's a stretch. I think in the end, the twins (or maybe the traveller alone) will wield the power that was lost and the 7 elements and take control of Teyvat from all of these groups. Not in an evil way, more similar to how Venti took Mondstadt. Take the throne and protect it so no one else can have it, but don't really DO anything with it.

As for the first thing you meantioned: I'm thinking that maybe Zhongli and Venti can't "directly" join the Fatui cuz maybe they are being watched from Celestia...? If we suggest that Venti DID let his Gnoses to be taken from him, he still "pretended" to fight back... Which would make sense if he can only help them secretly if he's being watched.. I don't know, just an assumption... :0

I found this in my recommended and I'm in love :D It got me thinking of the fatui harbinger's lore. For instance when scaramouche said "I'll make them hear me" in the animatic, it made me think of the speculations of scaramouche being a vessel created by Baal, the electro archon, that was redeemed as 'defective' which somehow arose from slumber and that he would someday have revenge on the electro archon. (imma stop there cuz I feel like a lot of people already know this lore) This is the best fatui animatic I've found :D

one of the reasons i love genshin story telling is because it functions like society. there are no true bad guys or good guys only better guys and worse guys. there is no black or white but instead various shades of grey. we follow a perspective of one character but that doesn’t mean that those not on our MCs side are bad guys.
