Great video as always! I’ve mentioned the “sad boxes” meals (what folks are calling those first class boxed meals on the frequent flyer forums) several times in those video reviews that Delta requests via the feedback surveys. Of the 24 or so flight segments that I have flown in 2023 (all in first class, all over 900 miles, all during peak meal periods), 1 had nothing beyond the standard first class snack basket and the remaining 23 only had the sad boxes. I’m not holding my breath on a response from Delta as to why hot meals have disappeared 😊 Like you, KBOI is home base for me but also travel a lot out of KMSP and KDFW. Safe travels!

Seems like recovery to "normal" must be base to base. It was interesting on flights out of San Diego and now LAX both had real hot meals, not the sad boxes as you say.

How/when do I request a GF meal? I’m flying Delta First next month EWR - SLC. I’m glad I found your channel since I’m also GF.

Go into your booking and look for services or extras. Sorry I don’t recall exactly. In there is a place to make the request. Worst case text an agent in the Delta app. They can also add it.
