I just bought a 3 month supply kit. Thank you for trying these. Puts my mind at ease knowing in a SHTF situation, I won't be eating garbage.

Thanks for sharing this, I like RH along with Patriots because it's so easy to add other ingredients to them unlike the backpacking meals.
@johndoe-kk9tr Жыл бұрын
Jonathan, sounds like you have tried eating RH products. Can you tell me your thought on the taste of them? I purchased a 1 year supply from RH. I made the mistake of not getting something small to test it first but I told myself, in a true emergency it doesn;t really matter if I like the taste or not. I went with RH because their 1 year supply has more calories than anyone else. I''m hoping to get some honest feedback from someone before I buy another years worth. Have you tried their supply of freeze dried meats?

Thank you for taking all this time and preparing so many different foods they offer! I would add meat to a few of these, easy to open a can. As you stated, many times, I've found that it does take more time and a little more water to fully rehydrate freeze dried or dehydrated foods. I just got their Chili Mac and a few others so I can compare to Mountain House, as well as the pudding.

I’ve bought a good amount of this product the only thing that I’ve tried is the Franklins finest coffee which I love up at my cabin which is off of the grid lol and I’ve recommended this coffee to others it tastes great and it does have a kick if you mix it right I’m happy so far with the readyhour brand and would recommend this to everyone cooking and water amounts may vary a bit but it’s worth it I hear !!

Here's a challenge for you; PLEASE try to make the rice pudding edible! Mine tasted delicious, but the rice was nearly uncooked after following their instructions. Thanks for telling us you could buy one package to try things. Huge mistake for me to get the 3 month kit. I now have a lifetime supply of oatmeal, pancake mix (very delicious), orange drink. I love making pancakes now every morning with it. As I am 70, figured it was time to start using it up! Now with new emergency food companies for me, I always either order an entrée bucket, or a samples bucket. I learned my lesson on a 3 month kit with this one. Sometimes if you use a cloth to wipe the channel of the ziplock clean it helps to seal it. Thanks for your review.

Just bought some for the first time from my patriot supply. Happy to have them but I have a few questions... Some of the packs (mac and cheese) were like they were vaccum sealed (hard and void of any air) and some were not. None of the other items were like this. I got a bunch of different types. Thanks!!!
@BackPackHack2 жыл бұрын
I've never gotten one that appeared to be vac-sealed, but I have got some that where one huge clump inside.

Isn't Mac and cheese already in more form, in the box? Lol. It does have powder cheese.. Lol same thing, for 99 cents a box.
@BackPackHack3 жыл бұрын
You're getting a larger quantity as opposed to the 99¢ boxes (7.25 v 12). And you're getting it already sealed in mylar bags with an oxy ab in it. Kraft doesn't do that. Nor will Kraft say it's good for 25 years.
@seanwatts83423 жыл бұрын
@Lana Ebarb If you do that you'll need to add the milk and butter/margarine, then freeze dry it before you vacuum seal it. Mylar alone does not make it long term stable.

I've questioned this many times. Mres are expensive and so are these freeze dried meals. I honestly think a vacuum sealer and all the things you would like packaged and put in a foot locker would not only be cheaper but personalized

That what I did. Those instant pasta. Limpton noodle soup,tea,instant coffee, measured out Gatorade packets, cans of tuna. Just bags of dried pasta and beans. Bags of medical supplies and med. Bags of matches and fishing hooks space blankets knives etc.

That 50 gallon footlocker makes great for storage and a quick and go. Grab it of the shel an go and everything is water proofed and sealed. Ammo is a big one everyone looks past. Corrosion Ammo doesn't cycle well. Oil it up before package

The way he’s gushing over how good these are doesn’t seem believable. The eggs are gritty enough to mention more than once … 9/10. What would it take for these to be a/n 8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1? Any time a person who is about 100lbs over weight says food is good I have a hard time trusting them. It’s like when a person says a drink is great then guy find out they’re an alcoholic. Standards will skew the rating system.
@prescottfiles2 жыл бұрын
Actually Zero, never trust a skinny chef. I trust his opinion over yours any day.
@zero110102 жыл бұрын
@@prescottfiles so, you just didn’t understand the comment at all. You went out of your way to say you wouldn’t believe me for some reason, and you showed you didn’t understand the point of the comment. Cool.
@prescottfiles2 жыл бұрын
@@zero11010 Oh no, I understand your shallow comment. Comparing someone who is 100lbs overweight to an alcoholic is very ignorant and hurtful too many people. You are also implying someones opinion doesn't matter just because they are 100lbs overweight.
@zero110102 жыл бұрын
@@prescottfiles that’s all your own internal monologue, don’t put it on me. What I said was that a person’s standards skew their rating system. That makes sense, right? In this case they found something with problems and seem to be unrealistic about how good the thing is giving it a nearly perfect score. And I’ve never known a person who is morbidly obese who has especially high food standards. It’s a generalization. It can’t always be right. But, most morbidly obese people don’t have glandular issues with physiological issues that prevent them from being at a normal and healthy weight. Additionally, alcoholism isn’t a thing most people can really help. It’s a mental disorder. Most morbidly obese people just have poor self control. You seem to take issue with people who have poor self control being compared to others with genuine problems. For some sub section of the morbidly obese their addiction to food is exactly like what alcoholics go through (except it’s easier for an alcoholic to avoid liquor). Feels like you’re shaming alcoholism. You’re taking this personally in some really odd way. It’s pretty weird, man. They can be great even if in this one case they gave a bloated review for the purposes of making content.

Mom's potato soup should be a 10 and then you give this a ten. Lol you just rate it all 9 and 10. Lol 9 and 10 are like 5 star restaurants. Great review but your 1 though 10 rating is horrible.
@BackPackHack3 жыл бұрын
I'm not comparing this to mom's cooking. I'm comparing it to what one can expect of these products FOR WHAT THEY ARE and WHAT THEY'RE INTENDED FOR. Besides, have YOU tried them? By your logic, a butane lighter you can carry in your pocket to start a fire with should be given a 4 when a propane torch and a MAPP gas canister attached to it is just so much better at starting a fire.
