It worked really well for me. For those of you who are complaining that it doesn’t work you got the technique wrong. Your pan needs to be hot enough. I did mine on medium heat. You can’t use too much batter. If it is too thick, it won’t bubble and puff up and I will come out doughy and uncooked. Finally, you need to use self rising flour. If you use regular flour, you won’t get that fluffiness and puff and it will come out of dense and doughy. Even if your ratios are a little off It will affect the final result. Bread making and baking are a science. Anything can affect the outcome. That doesn’t mean the recipe is wrong it just means you don’t have the technical skills to make it work!

@@dio1018 You only need plain flour and temperature really makes a huge difference. Like similar recipes when I cook these inside I always have my stovetop on medium high. If you're still having problems with it try using half teaspoon of baking powder combined in the flour. Good luck ☺️

I have tried this recipe 3 times and I finally got it on the third try! The minute that the bubble started forming in the tortilla, I let out a scream of joy! And it tastes amazing, I ate it with just beans and egg, and even my family really liked it. What's great about these is you don't feel heavy afterwards

@@sonjagichevska2731 No bubbles on the first try for me, either. They came out alright, but a bit doughy. To me it looks like you have to be quite patient and keep flipping, on relatively low heat. “Ready in 5 minutes” only refers to the mixing of the dough.

@@mm9773 not really if u keep the heat low it won't bubble and would still be doughy , after a few tried , the way to get bubbles was the moment the first bubble start i crank the heat up and start flipping (it sometimes char a bit but that gives it a good taste) . Heat control is hard :(

These look really delicious & very useful for adding fillings even to use for a dinner - definitely love the simplicity !!! I think I will try a mushrooms in sauce filling - I'm semi-vegan, eat meat sometimes, so these would be great with minced beef also, or a little chicken & sauce - I really love simple !!! I watched a shy Chinese national at a hostel in central Australia making something similar, though I'm pretty sure he added an egg? 🤔 It was a little wetter too, i think the egg held it nicely together after it was cooked.. He also used spring onion, which i call shallots, it smelt amazing in the kitchen while he was cooking them! I was very forward and asked him questions, but our language barrier was difficult.. After he finished cooking them he was kind enough to let me try one.. It was an incredible taste sensation.. I tried to get the recipe, but again, our language barrier prevented that.. He cooked it from memory and he kept tweeking the mixture until the consistency pleased him, i could tell it was the consistency that he was most focused on getting right, and the result was absolute perfection! The result was silky soft, but it held together perfectly! 🤤

Hi I prepared it and when my husband saw it he said he don't want it he wanted me to make normal roti. That's our kind of every day baking powder flat bread. So my sun had it first he's 34 years and he enjoyed it with chicken liver that I prepared to go with it. So when his dad sat down to eat he took just one so when he done eating it my son said ' dad I Know you want more so go have it and stop pretending that you don't like it's. Anyways it turned out well. My daughter is 31and she said it ate good also. Ps. I make it from fresh garlic chive and green onions that I planted. Thanks it was delicious have a great evening 😊.

One thing to remember with stuff like this is to observe the type of burner they're cooking on in these videos - see how its always gas? Electric - and induction - cooktops don't provide continuous heat unless you've got that thing cranked up to the maximum. So if you're trying to make this on one of those you won't get the bubbling and it'll wind up super chewy.

Very important: this needs to be cooked at medium low heat and it takes 8-10 minutes for each of these to cook completely. so if you're cooking more than 2, better have 2 pans going both at the same time.
