If you want arm workouts without equipment, try these isometrics (hold these positions to the best of your ability) and yes, you can also do these on your knees if it's too much weight The goal here is to build muscle mass in order to increase resting metabolism as muscles require more energy to run than fat tissue, hence why people that worked out before have it easier to lose weight again due to left behind nuclei (I believe was the reason for quick muscle re-development) - Pike position, basically a fully extended push up position but lean forward and try to flex your upper back, rounding it upwards - Half pushup hold, simple as can be; go halfway down a push up and hold your position - "Extended" plank, now working your core and your arms I would definitely recommend you start on your knees (knees as far back as you can); go into a plank position but have your hands reach out as far as you can and meet one another. You should look like almost a sideways longbow If you want arm "cardio" I'm assuming you're talking about muscular endurance or the ability to do tasks involving said muscle groups for long times, generally lactic acid shuttling should be worked on with the aforementioned isometric holds, but if you want to get better at an action, I would recommend you do mechanical drop sets of said exercise Let's use pushups as an easy example: Start with your arms as close to your waist as possible, for most people your hands will land around your floating ribs and you'll barely be able to squeeze out 2 or 3, that's okay you're doing great Without resting, pull your hands up to around shoulder height and try to squeeze out as many push ups as you can Then once you drop, go on your knees and try again at shoulder height, do this until you can't do any more. Now repeat this later in the day, and then the next day again You will gain defined musculature, but unless you are training for a long time with a consistent slight calorie surplus, they shouldn't grow into ridiculously big arms that I've been made aware some girls don't want when they start working out or contemplating resistance training If you want cardio as a way to increase your heart's ability to pump blood more efficiently, I would actually recommend you start rucking which is simply walking with a weighted pack on your back, start with 15-25 pounds and try to work up to 5 miles, once you can easily do 5 miles, raise your weight, never go past 60 pounds You can either raise weight or increase time, speed and distance, play around with whatever is convenient for you Also, in the case of more stationary people (like myself), that are willing to make changes to their diets, if you are able to TRY to reduce the amount of food you eat to 1 or 2 meals per day that are nutritious and filling for little calories within a time frame (e.g 6 hours between each meal per day) and incorporate small walks (even 10 minutes of brisk walking around the house) will improve your weight and mood over time I am so happy to see people take an interest in bettering their health and I am proud of you all for taking steps forward, results take time, work despite your soreness, laziness, lack of motivation and fatigue and keep on keeping on. You'll be just fine, be confident in what you do and try to find new things to incorporate (ideally anecdotally or scientifically tested) In the words of Zyzz: "We'll all make it brah"

@cej39402 жыл бұрын
@@sbb998 I completely agree with your points, my understanding of the field is quite limited to be fair and I usually end up falling into the more common knowledge of stuff and reiterating it (I can't just go spiralling out and researching everything just to appease one point and make a perfect answer that doesn't exist) I do agree with the overeating and portion control, however my mention of intermittent fasting was as a form of baby steps for people to try to begin, I usually stay well away from nutritional science due to how multifaceted it is, stuff that works for one person may not work for another person (much like working out and fitness in general) I will say however, that lack of exposition and the lack of action to attempt to guide people to start doing stuff is far worse than giving them flawed information. I CANNOT make the perfect answer that will appeal to all people and that was not my intention. My intention was to give an alternative example to what was shown in the videos as despite agreeing over it's usefulness to help "grease the groove" and get people to even start to move around, I think it was a prudent idea to also pitch in for another potential progression to the workouts As for cardiovascular health, I even said that you should do cardio as it is quite beneficial for your body, it has its role in the grand scheme of fitness in my opinion (both LISS and HIIT types), I even offered rucking as a progression for walking as personally I never felt that walking was ever enough for time slots that were convenient for me And to go back, I offered the idea of cutting on calories/food in order to try to lowball people into a caloric deficit, its also significantly easier for a person to picture 2 meals as lesser compared to 4-6 meals which may equate to the same calories and possibly be more wholistic. In no way did I intend for dieting to replace cardiovascular development, I just intended for it to be a potential first step before introducing the rest and I was talking about it's introduction to a primarily stationary group of people. Yes it would be wonderful if they were to start jogging or walking, but for some people changing their portions or choosing different foods may be an easier step to make, I literally put it near the end of the comment after stating the importance and effects of the previous 2 (being resistance training and cardio) insinuating that if all else fails, you can start with this as I also know how much it sucks to lug around an extra several pounds when trying to exercise I never intended for this to be "the magic bullet" or the "one size fits all" answer, this is meant to be another person pitching in their advice that can be beneficial according to anecdotal cases in the hope to help guide people into this massive world At the very end of the day, it's up to the consumers of this to follow through and change things as time goes on, I would be very concerned if people blindly continued this for a while without developing their own opinions on what they're doing

Just go to a gym. No one will judge you. They’ll be pumped to see someone starting their fitness journey, ESPECIALLY if you’re hitting weights. These exercises won’t work and just end up being light cardio. If you wanna lose weight, eat a ton of LEAN protein --it’s really filling. You need to be in a caloric deficit which is literally the only thing that matters. Weight lifting helps preserve muscle which keeps your metabolism up. These arm exercises are, uh... interesting to say the least. If you actually want to work your shoulders at home. Do pushups on your knees, or to target them even more, elevate your knees so that you can push up more rather than pushing out

@@ShArNi_01 professional is a funny title. Just because someone is a professional doesn’t mean they are giving you correct advice. To actually train muscles, you need resistance or some form, whether that be weights or bodyweight. Those cause lactic acid build up, which causes that burning sensation (different from the burning you feel from doing these “weightless arm exercises”, thats just from your arms getting tired) which that later leads to actual progress.

Weightless arm exercises do nog work if you want to lose fat or gain muscle, it gives the feeling That you are doing something but it doesnt work in a fitness program, it is a great and easy way to test your strength tho. But if you want it to be effective you would have to use weight.

this won't build muscle or "tone" you. this will build some muscular endurance, but you can train that faster with just doing traditional lifting exercises with light weights and high repetitions (anything over 15 reps a set until failure, aka where you can't lift the weight anymore after doing it at least 15 times). you'll eventually be able to lift the weight like 30 times or something, but don't do it for that many reps, instead increase the weight. there's not much point in training your arms for endurance though, unless you want olympic medal in masturbation or something, otherwise you'd be better off doing endurance training for your back or legs, since that will prove way more useful as most sports and daily activities that involve endurance will use either your back (stuff like rowing) or legs (literally anything where you need to run or walk a lot), and for back and legs, it would be best to just row/run since the best way to train towards something is to do that thing. you'll never need to hold your arms in front of you or above you with no weight for extended periods of time. i suppose these might work as stretches as well if you go deep enough on them, but in that case there's no need to do them for that long
@abcd188022 жыл бұрын
ik you can't target fat, but you're also saying it won't even help lose any fat overall, right?
@alnoso2 жыл бұрын
@@abcd18802 it won't help with weight loss either, it burns very little calories. trying to lose fat by using the small muscles in your arms and shoulders is very inefficient, since those muscles don't need that much energy to function in the first place. using your legs by simply walking will burn calories much faster, since your leg muscles are much bigger than your arm muscles. things like squats will also burn more calories than moving your arms around ever will.

Just because it burns doesn’t mean it’s building muscle. You didn’t get muscles in your arms from doing these- stop deceiving people. I can appreciate that you want to get people more active, but let’s keep it to science based strategies for what you’re seemingly promoting.

These don't do anything. Lifting air isn't going to do anything to your arms. Just because you feel something happening doesn't mean you are toning your arms.

If your not tightening your muscles while "lifting air" you're completely right it won't work. However the point is to keep the muscle tightened(engaged) while performing these. And if you do 3 to 4 sets, for 2 weeks straight everyday, you Def will see results
