Probably (or maybe not) because of the drummer. ... Don't get me wrong, he's excellent. And did the best of what what was possible on that instrument for that song. But that was giving it too much of a punchy, high-school hard-rock vibe. (Like Asian Kung Fu Generation, great japanese band too) But this song here needs more of a chill island samba vibe, so with smoother percussions, like Bongos. Also if the keys would have added some more rhythm it would have helped to want to dance. But still, independently of the performance (which was great), a concert is also always about matching with the public. The same performance won' happen the same depending on the context it's put in. Gotta keep trying !

I have always loved jazz and fusion music, but sadly, I don't know a lot about Japanese Jazz Fusion; but what a great sound! What a pleasant change to see a bass guitar with only 4 strings!!!!! Good job boys.

Thank you for your heartwarming message! Jazz and fusion music used to be very popular in Japan, but recently they have stagnated a bit. But we still love the music of that time. Kazumi Watanabe, Masayoshi Takanaka, Kenji Ohmura, etc. Please listen to these guitarists play as well.
