I am 24 going on 25 on July 22nd and I have been getting a taste of old school music a lot lately. Stuff like this soothes my mind and soul. I used to listen to a lot of rap and just rap like modern day rap and I wanted to get away from it so I turned to old school rap.

I remember a friend (she was a senior and I was a sophomore) asking me to the senior dance. We were going as friends. Our local radio station at that time, DJ'd the dance. When this song came on, I asked her to dance. I wound up singing it to her as we danced. We became boyfriend and girlfriend after that.

The high school kids don’t even slow dance anymore!! 😢 They boo the DJ if he plays a slow song. It’s like being in a club!! These kids are missing out! What is the point of bringing a date if everyone just jumps around with themselves!? It really is too bad. 😢

Unfortunately in the music industry it's politics really do not represent how we the fans truly value these artists! This man an his music means more to me than Prince any day!!! However Prince has music I love. It's sad the level of success musicians achieve are really decided by the music industry! When you grow up on great music such as this and all the other music 60's-70's-80'-90's you are a product of the music an it's a direct reason you are the person you are today!

I'm 58 and lost my wife 2 years ago to a heart attack, she was 7 years older than me. I remember when I first saw her at work she was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen but way out of my league. She always wore high heals and smelled wonderful, I would get so nervous and couldn't speak when she was near. This song had just come out on radio and it put my feelings into words so perfectly, I ran out and bought the cassette. About a week later I overheard her asking one of her girlfriends if they could give her a lift home after work due to some car trouble. Some how I worked up the courage to offer her a lift home.... she said yes!! Everything for the rest of the day was a blur but I do remember this song playing on the way home. Over the years we have laughed about that ride and that song but the feelings never fade, hearing this song makes me cry. I miss you Sandra and will always love you.

Not really cougar. I'm thinking he was 19, and she was probably 25. Cougar is more like 40+.

Wearing Esprit and Guess listening to this song in 1986 without a care in the world! Junior high in the '80s was so fun. There must be a reason that we all miss it so much!

My mother use to listen to this type music I remember hating it at the time. She past away years ago and I now find myself listening to all the songs she loved thinking of her memories 😢
