At 1:44, you delete a few blocks. First you mouse drag to select them, then you push...something? How? Delete key on my keyboard does nothing.

You have way less things that pop up in your window than I do. When I open reaktor 6 blocks I get and audio in, clock, note in, levels, and audio out. I'm assuming these were added in later updates after this video was made. None of them are routed and I don't know where the ins and ours should start

When I connect the pitch from the note in to the pitch input on the filter(like you do at 5:36)... I hear no difference in the notes at all. Isn't it supposed to change the filter frequency with different notes?

Played with Blocks for about 5 minutes with the R6 player and immediately bought full version of Reaktor 6. Started going thru this tutorial and ran into 2 issues. First, when I drag the Blocks New.ens into the structure window I don't get what you show. I get Clock, Note In, Macro Knobs, Macro Switches, Scope and Level Stereo. Deleted everything but Note In and built the synth following your tutorial. I get a constant note out, the pitch changes but no envelope! Thought there might be some residual stuff from the Blocks New so I started from scratch with a new Ensemble and built again as above. Same result. I've checked everything and still this strange behaviour. I have tried with an Impulse 49, a LaunchKey Mini, a Korg Mini and my iPad running several different MIDI keyboard apps. Any ideas? Thanks!! Joe B

+Joe Banko I had the exact same problem, but after scrutinizing the video I noticed he moved the modulation input (the grey bars next to the "LEVEL" knob) up. Check it out at 4:54. That was the key for me!
@Semiosphere7 жыл бұрын
I had the same problem. This part is crucial, but he fails to mention it on the video. I was really puzzled by this, then I checked this out and now it works. Thanks! :)

It's a year later and I'm learning Reaktor 6, following this tutorial. I assembled the blocks exactly as in the video and I also get a constant tone that changes to whatever keyboard note I hit but remains constant. I tried the tip pf moving the modulation input (the grey bars next to the VCA "LEVEL" knob) up, but that has no effect. Also the Envelope block has no effect on the VCA block.

Can you build a synth with Blocks and the skin it? basically this would be the same as using the blocks architecture for an ensemble? also, no polyphonic oscillators?

So, NI gave some of this stuff away for their annual Christmas thing they do, so now I have reactor6 and some Blocks Wired. My issue, is that I can't seem to build my own modular setup with it. I have three "presets" I guess, but no library in Reactor from which to see individual blocks. I only have tabs for "Player" and "Files" with no Library. Any ideas what's going on? Hope this makes sense. Any help would b appreciated. Thanks, and great vid :)
@delgadobosso9 жыл бұрын
+SLVMBER I'm pretty sure the thing they gave away is a pre-made modular setup. I don't think there's anyway of making your own unless you buy the full version.

@88xetrov889 жыл бұрын
+SLVMBER Yeah you will need to buy Reaktor to make a modular synth and save it.
@dyzam9 жыл бұрын
+SLVMBER You can't edit any Reaktor Ensemble unless you own a full version of Reaktor. For Blocks based Ensembles (and Tim Exile's "Flesh") you'll need Reaktor 6. For any other Reaktor Ensembles, you need at least a full version of Reaktor 5.5 (which is no longer being sold with Reaktor 6 out). Hope this helps.

Does anyone know why sometimes certain Reaktor ensembles don't produce any sound via MIDI (while many others do)?
@sounduvviewtv34698 жыл бұрын
I have the same problem
@exoreality8 жыл бұрын
Not all ensembles are set to receive midi. Some are setup to receive audio from an external source and some are setup to be run from a sequencer. If you cannot produce sound from a midi keyboard then look to see if there is a clock module in the ensemble. Click on the play button and it will most likely trigger the sequencer. Hope this helps you.

+Gordon Bennett Well thanks man. I want to make some thing close to deadmau5 music. I've been doing this since April I don't know alot about this synth stuff. I've downloaded Reaktor 6 around July I had no idea what exactly what it was. Were the plug ins were and everything else. I was stuck on the main page (if you know what Reaktor looks like when you opened it) I uninstalled it after that. I wasn't sure what i was going to do with a empty plug in I expected it to come with plug ins but it didn't (I think) fl studio is closely related I found the plug ins, made a track, then made more tracks which lead to albums with no problem. I didn't know how every plug in worked and my creativity for fixing up a preset to sound different was very limited. I learned that if you just record yourself playing a preset on a plug in (without changing it up)everyone will eventually find out how you made it and then your career is over. Also you'd probably have to be a professional computer person to know all that stuff. Especially when it comes to files installation/uninstallation and etc. I'm not sure.Just check out my channel to see my music progess.(tracks albums, podcasts etc)

1:47 I have installed this on both my macbook and my PC. When i click on Library there is no folder called Reaktor Blocks. If i click on player there is a folder called Reaktor Blocks, but there is no ensemble named Blocks New.ens, so something is wrong with your tutorial. Also you didn't say what to open at the startup screen, I'm guessing that i should click on Patch... or maybe Build? Does it even matter? These tutorials seem somewhat outdated.
