Darin Hendricks takes the Stick Shift win in his first-ever Sick Week Drag & Drive with his 1993 SVT Cobra. It's powered by a supercharged Cobra Jet engine, back with a 5-speed and runs 8s in the quarter mile!

What a cool video! I'll never forget meeting Darin at WFC 1 Bowling Green. I was 18 years old and had just bought my '93 cobra and was striving for any type of input I could get to make it quicker. Darin took a bunch of time and talked with me about his car and what was working and not working. Super nice dude and I've enjoyed watching his progressions through out the years. Congrats on the stick shift class win!

Mr. Smith, been following ya since MMFF, started reading that mag and 5.0, Super Ford, and running Mustangs back in 95. Lived about 15 minutes from Old bridge Township Raceway Park, right in Manalapan. Ran Stangs, Japanese, euro, and sport bikes there, back into Murican power for a couple decades now. Bradenton has become my racetrack since we moved down to FL back in 2004. Great ol track, reminds me of the times with Mustand vs Grand National back in the day. Now that Cleetus has a half share in the track (and owns Freedom Factory next door), I’m glad to know that the track has a prosperous future and not the future the fell onto Raceway Park and others in the past few years. Your contributions in the online media is sure to help keep it going and keep our sport alive. Great to see what this gentleman can do with the ol Foxbody (specifically Cobra!) chassis. Thanks again from an ol Jersey boy and now a Florida res of about 21 years. 👍🇺🇸💪🦅🙏✝️

Outstanding combo. I can't believe I missed this in person at Sick Week. If I saw one more 5.3 LS Turbo combo I was going to puke.

@@600wheel Don't forget Randy Seward (drag racings IRON MAN), in the 8.5 class ! He WON class on day 5 with an 8.501 ! His teal notch called Pony Express, is turbo Windsor powered. By the way, he also won class at DRAG Week last year !!
@600wheel5 күн бұрын
@ I absolutely didn’t I’m probably one of the only guys rolling around with 600 wheel in my Mustang with the stock Windsor block it came with although ferociously warmed over. Im a Windsor absolutist and I love when a Windsor (even 351based) powered Mustang kicks ass. I’m just so glad the days of the LS in every Fox at the track are soon to be behind us that I am pointing out why every single chance I get 😂Off the top of my head I can’t remember his name but the guy in the teal cobra that won stick shift is running the 5.2 cobra jet “coyote”with a Whipple in his car

I know it was probably done when 93 cobras were relatively cheap and easy to come by, or perhaps done in stages, but it pains me just a little when someone makes a full blown race car and doesn’t just start with a 4 cylinder etc. Awesome car though!
