Great to see you on MSFS, wondering if it would be possible for you to test the flight model at all. Climbs, banks, stalls etc, there are many vids on here all showing off the graphics, which are the best and are absolutely stunning, no question there. But I’m yet to find any real in depth info about the actual flight model of the aircraft in the sim. .I’m assuming as a real captain, you would be in the best position to let us know how it feels, is it on rails, does it feel and act realistically or has there been some toning down or artistic licence used? While I’m sure it will be great, I can’t help but wonder why everyone seems to concentrate on the graphical side or weather side, rather than the flight model.

@@flightdeck2sim That's what I'm curious to see. Sacrilege! Pitch for altitude! :-) Thanks for the video. That gives an idea of how well the simple GA aircraft behave in MSFS. I'm a student pilot and because of the pandemic (and a special issuance medical before that) I couldn't finish my PPL yet. So I turned to sims not to loose everything before coming back. Namely XP-11 with the REP skyhawk, which kind of behaves a lot like the real thing. My biggest question about MSFS would be how the default C172 behaves. I was already sold on the scenery long ago.... real VFR seems more than possible. Your 152 flight is a good omen for the c172. Unlike the default XP-11 172 it seems to float like the real deal on landing. Thanks for the video!

In the Cessna my dad used to fly he asked if I wanted to take the controls and I grab the yolk with both hands and he slapped up one of them away and said one hand boy use the other one for your mapI don't know if it's still the case but this was a long time ago

Flying a 152 at 7000ft: climb performance/10. I'm also a GA instructor and I teach power for speed, pitch for height :)

This is so exciting. I wonder if there will be something like Steam Workshop to submit fan-made, custom aircraft. I would love to be able to fly RC aircraft, gliders, the Aero-Works Aerolite 103 that came standard with X-Plane 11, or perhaps even fighter jets. Also, I _really_ hope there will be a HUD only mode, without looking at the cockpit.

Are you aware if there are amy plans to add warbirds to the sim like one of the Spitfire variants or some other old WWII props? Or possibly even early jet age aircraft like the F-86 OR MiG-15? Not even for combat, just to fly it out and have a look around and yes, I just want to cruise over Dover in a spitfire. I think that would be absolutely incredible

Great video! I really hope they allow us to disable that ridiculous immersion killer at the top of the screen (white line). I think just knowing to move the cursor to the top of the screen is enough and easy to remember. Makes the whole thing too arcadey to me. That thing is going to be about 5 inches long on TVs.
@flightdeck2sim4 жыл бұрын
It only shows if you drag your mouse up like in the video! FD2S
@danhoven4 жыл бұрын
@@flightdeck2sim Haha, yes I am aware of that. Still makes no sense to have a constant reminder of where to go for options. Mouse movement is quite a bit being that at least 75% of the time, every video I've seen has it showing. And for what? Because we're going to ever forget?
@danhoven4 жыл бұрын
@@flightdeck2sim Also know that I said; "I hope". Another way to look at it is do you remember where you keep your manuals, maps and other documentation in your real life aircraft? If we lived in such a time where digital holograms were possible would you opt for an arrow reminding you all time where it was? An option to get rid of it isn't asking too much.
@flightdeck2sim4 жыл бұрын
Fair enough! Personally it doesn’t bother me, there might be an option to have it completely removed, not so sure. FD2S

Forget Track IR... VR is so much more immersive. Play race sims and space sims in VR There's no way I'll go back to flat screen anytime soon for those.. Can't wait for Oculus support on this..

Well, if it's VFR in GA aircraft you're after, this game will be a huge improvement over anything you're currently using. Default aircraft are ok-ish, by the looks of it. As for airliners... we need to wait until 2021 Q1-Q2 for PMDG to release the 737.

Good analysis! GA will be sensational but we'll need to wait for some quality tube liners! FD2S

Have seen a bunch of these FS2020 previews on YT lately, and I am relieved to see that all the folks that are actual real life pilots actually grease the landings....some of the FS only pilots' landings would absolutely either break the airplane or at the very least require a change of pants for anyone that happened to be a passenger

BTW, the Piper PA-28 was not so fussy about needing carb heat and I liked it better than a Cessna, more docile. Too bad a Piper Warrior or Arrow are not included with MS FS 2020.
