Neat lecture! It also seems a nice opportunity to apply chain rule to derive the same result, as "proof 2"

Thanks! But for using the chain rule, you already have to assume that the inverse is differentiable at the point.

Great point! This argument is only good to determine the value if we already know differentiability of the inverse. That computation is too attractive:)
