Dragster 430 could only be a cooler call-sign if it were Dragster 420.
@SeligTiles

but since it is associated with kalitta everyone automatically knows that it’s callsign of a Mickey Mouse organization that fly 30 year old airframes that were with 6 different airlines before.

Dragster 420 was at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio... up until this year... It was a roller coaster, themed after Top Fuel Dragsters, that launched riders up to and slightly in excess of 120 MPH, then went vertical up to a top crest of 420 feet in the air, before plummeting them straight back down 400 ft until it pulled out and entered the brake run... Was the most adrenaline fueled 18 seconds you could ever get...

So that’s not the rumored supersonic 737-ultra with afterburners?
@noname-zg8lh

For those unaware. This is not your ordinary charter aircraft. This company holds the sole, single-source contract to fly service members' remains to their final resting place. That is why some of these ATC discussions are non-standard.

Sorry, I'm calling bs on your post. If even true, that has nothing to do with non-standard communications.
@josh3771

Not sure what non standard communications your referring to. Seemed normal for a stressed pilot who needs to get on the ground. Maybe not as rigid and rehearsed as an airline crew. Surprised neither the tower or pilots didn’t officially declare an emergency and get details of souls, hazmat and fuel.

Hmm. I have had the unfortunate circumstances of twice being present for the return of remains and it has always been USAF aircraft that brings them

@@TheDisplacedalaskan I have returned Sodliers and Marines from around the world. Its quite common for a Military contractor to bring remains home. We always follow a strict protocol when doing so.

You seriously have no clue about the owner of the company and his ties to the racing of ground based vehicles? It's fascinating how you pretend to know but for the informed you come across as a baffoon.

The company's founder was a famous drag racer that ran Top Fuel Dragsters... He won 5 championships, and set multiple speed records over the years... Many airlines get different designations other than their company name, like American or United, for example: US Airways - Cactus British Airways - Speedbird Virgin America - Redwood Republic Airlines - Brickyard China Airlines - Dynasty Trans-States Airlines - Waterski Kalitta Air - (Non-Military large jet) Connie (Military) Dragster and of course, (small planes) Kalitta

Mickey mouse outfit. Shoddy. Flying 30 year old airframes. Shortcuts on maint.
@tornadojames
@tornadojames Жыл бұрын
Definitely not a "mickey mouse outfit". The original pioneer of Kalitta Air started freight hauling in a Cessna 310, by himself, in 1967. He grew the original company (American International Airways) so large that it was merged with Kitty Hawk Inc. at which time, he moved on to other ventures, like aircraft leasing. When Kitty Hawk folded chapter 11, Mr. Kalitta purchased the certificates from Kitty Hawk, in 2000, and has been rebuilding since. The company now does contract work as well as charter freight. The company also received the FAA's Diamond Award in maintenance training. In fact, in all incidents involving a Kalitta Air aircraft, no injuries or loss of airframe have been reported. They operate 747's because they have the largest capacity out of any mass-produced commercial freight aircraft manufactured to date, and the last 747 to ever be produced just rolled off the factory floor in Washington not too long ago... They also operate 767's and 777's in freighter version.

Given you are not a pilot, or a maintainer, where is your proof? Or is it just the vomit coming out of your mouth that is impeding you from making an intelligent comment? We use them for air freight on a regular basis from Germany to the US, and never a problem or delay.
