Ian Collins and Talk's Maddie Hale discuss Piers Morgan's exclusive interview with Fiona Harvey, the 'real' Baby Reindeer subject of Richard Gadd's smash hit Netflix series which has taken the world by storm.
Maddie and Ian note the similarities between the character Martha and the real life Fiona Harvey, Ian Collins questions the show's creative licence and stereotypes, while Maddie there could be a strong case for defamation.

You will soon come to grips with the fact that the woman Piers interviewed told the truth, and NETFLIX therefore lied to you. You are having problems with this because it triggers within you the subconscious awareness that Israeli and British officials and media personalities are lying to you about Gaza.

Fiona is off her tits on something, just hope she gets the help she desperately needs. I have watched the interview (which Piers proved what a world class journalist he truly is) twice and watched out for the following 1) she has done her homework on piers and was quick to remind him of his age and also the reason she chose piers to Do this interview 2) When she is lying because she does tell a lot of fibs she looks up or down but never at piers, she drinks a gallon of water too 3) the afore mentioned degree and about her exams 4) she denounced the emails and then says so what it she did send that many emails there are worse things than a few emails (41,000 which is 118 a day for a year) Richard did state that he needs a licence to make the story note TV friendly so the courthouse scene etc. having said that it’s easy to find out if Fiona has ever been served an harassment order. Also Richard has NEVER said who it was she is the one wanting her 15 minutes of fame and realised if she is gonna Sue Netflix she will get millions if it’s ruled in her favour but I cannot see how Netflix or Gadd can say yep it was her they have played the anonymity card and it’s her that’s come out kicking off Think to bring it all in point Piers should interview Richard

My thoughts are, yeah she’s probably like the character in the series and embarrassed as well as delusional and in denial about what transpired between her and Richard - but what about the man who sexually abused Richard Gadd? The man he had PTSD/revelations about that prompts him to personally admit that he should actually be reporting that man to the police rather than a lonely, mentally-ill, woman who was so infatuated and obsessed with him that she ultimately stalked and harassed him, which is also considered criminal behavior, which she obviously needs diagnosed and treated for the mental illness that drives her actions. What about the sexual assault from the man in the tv and film industry who actually committed the crime of raping Richard Gadd? Why aren’t the Internet sleuths searching, stalking, and threatening him? I’m sure he could be found, too, especially if Richard’s friends during that time leaked the man’s name. I would like to see him try and explain himself in an interview/interrogation like this woman.

At 7;21. Here's where the people involved will have to answer if this ends up in a civil trial. They all said this was based on fact and truthful events. They never stated the series is "loosely based on events that took place." The hook to get viewers is that it is not a work of fiction like a Hollywood movie. The series was promoted as based on real events. The prison sentence could be challenged. That is important to any case since the alleged stalker in the series actually was found guilty by the courts as a stalker and then sentenced. This is essential to her case if she files it. As a lawyer she would have a ruined reputation. There is an allegation by the producers and writers of the series that she now has a criminal record.

I wonder if the actress who played Martha did some stalking herself to 'nail' the character as well as she did. I understand that Mr. Gadd could share voicemails so she could mimic the voice, cadence, etc. But the subtle traits and facial expressions would take observation over time. Verrrry interesting.

You don't say the same for the actor's who depicted being racist, rapists, murders and prostitutes. Why would her being an actress be any different. That's what actor's do. ACT.

@@gi_girl6117 Because she's in that role to look and behave like 'Martha' and countless people say she's practically a doppelganger for her. Besides, I'm sure the lead actor/author playing himself, could comfortably re-enact his encounters with 'Martha' since her near-twin was imitating her to a tee. I have no idea if such precision was expected of the other cast members. I'm just commenting on the Martha character. 😂🤣

Netflix and Gadd literally state "this is a true story " Not based on a true story or inspired by real events. So these two missed the point a bit. Not that I necessarily believed Harvey, but for balance. So if she is telling the truth I imagine she would have a case

There are lot of women who were stalked by ex-boyfriends. I know of one case where the ex-bf was the nephew of the city police Chief. A cop on the force said she had little chance this guy would stay away. So she had to be moved by social workers and the court officers to another city three hours away so she had no hassle from the ex-bf. He eventually was convicted but spent very little time in jail. However he never tracked her down again and eventually found a new gf.

Piers Morgan’s Baby Reindeer interview shouldn’t have happened. The interview takes advantage of a vulnerable person that is clearly not mentaly well. It’s clear he’s not even remotely interested in hearing her side of the story and is solely chasing clout. Am appalled at the decision Piers made but i get that in his head views and a quick buck are worth more then human dignity.

Whats so wrong about all of this is no doubt Richard Gadd, Netflix nad Piers Morgan have all made a hefty profit from this and yet she was given £250. Even if she did everything in the film, there is still a duty of care, surely? I think she should be entitled to some of the cash from all of this!!
