I've learned from your channel for long now and this week, what a surprise, Mark Smith from TalkingBass told how good your lessons are in his video. Hope it'll do good for you, you deserve it.

I feel compelled to ask something, Mr. Stinnett, and I hope you’ll forgive me if it’s redundant (meaning if someone else has already asked). Are those open D notes during the first three bars incidental, or are they intentional?
@realbasslessons93563 жыл бұрын
Questions are fine, as long they are not negative. When I teach, everything is intentional. (except mistakes). Those "open D notes" are muted. Watch many more times and you will begin to hear how they are alwasy there in this phrase.

WOW! Mr "Real Bass Lessons!" You've not only captured the feel of Jamerson, but you've also emulated the SOUL of Jamerson!😲 I'm 💗in' it! Ole-Skool Fender-Bassist; that's my KZbin channel name... Thank you sooo much Sir! I started playing in 1971 and you inspire me to GRAB even more, lol! I really enjoy my old school piers e.g. Jamerson, C.Rainy, Willy Weeks, Jaco (of course), "Fudgie Solomon" (Mandrill), "Peter Cetera" (Chicago) and a bunch of cats that played on the R&B/Glam-Rock 45's, who's names were undisclosed, like, in the 70's! ~g~

Is it best to practice 4 fingers per fret?
@realbasslessons93563 жыл бұрын
One finger per fret works well for many lines, as you can see. It helps with economy of motion. I recommend you that you become comfortable playing one finger per fret even though you may choose not to at times.

Thanks! For my preferred genre, I find myself jumping around the fret board with one finger so I may pluck heavily with my right hand.
