Had mine for 2 years now, no issues. You got a bad one. Mines been through monsoons and 50mph winds.

Maybe I got the first one made. I bought it right when it came out. Glad to hear yours has worked well. I clearly got a defective unit.

I was considering this tent until this review. Thanks for posting an honest review. I’m so sick of reading fake reviews.

Just trying to save someone else the trouble. Would have kept it if it was a good tent.

@@bassntruck so what tent would you recommend?
@bassntruck3 жыл бұрын
@@wobuzh1dao All I can say is not this one. We have yet to find a replacement and at this rate it may take a while. But to be honest, if you can find an old tent from the 80s or 90s in good shape, it is likely a much better tent. They will be more work to put up and heavy poles but who backpacks with an 8+ person tent.

Did you use seam sealer on all of the seams before using the first time. Many less expensive tents do not have taped seams.

Hmm we got this tent and used it 3 times already once In a downpour . Didn’t leak once . Maybe got a defective tent ?

Thank you so much for this thorough and honest review! I was considering this tent, even though me owning a Coleman 6 person tent should have been a dead giveaway. The tent leaked similar to this but badly on only one side and it was also waterproofed. Had I not busted out the duct tape to tape the seams mid-torrential pour, we would have been terribly flooded. Tents today just aren't as good as they used to be. Back to the hunt for a solid, affordable 10-12 man tent. Thank you! Great post!

Is this an instant setup one? When I looked at consumer's reviews, what I found was that the instant setup ones got a lot of leaking reviews while the normal ones almost have no leaking reviews.

Sorry, but you re sure you put the rain sheet outside of the mesh? Because i think you have not put it over
@bassntruck3 жыл бұрын
What rain sheet? Everything that comes with this tent is attached minus the poles and rain fly. There is nothing else to this tent. The thumbnail shows exactly where and how this tent was set up shortly before this event transpired.
@kimberlyriesberg66072 жыл бұрын
@@bassntruck BUT did you even use the rain fly? You never see it attached in the video you made.

It's too bad you had a bad experience with this tent. I have had mine for a year and a half now and it has been great. We haven't had any trouble with leaks and it has been is some pretty heavy downpours and rain that lasted all day. And all the mesh has been in good shape the whole time.

I am glad you have had better luck with your unit. Maybe I got sent the beta test unit since I think I may have been the first person to order one when the released. Or maybe it was the first one that person made. Everything else aside, there clearly was zero quality control on these units.

Maybe you got a bum tent. We’ve had ours (burgundy 12 person version) out in thunderstorms, heavy wind, and three solid days of rain. The only water that we saw in the tent were two little spots of a couple drops in the back (bedroom) corners. Otherwise we stayed bone dry. My only beef about the tent is the entry zipper tends to stick at the curve up top. I have no affiliation with Coleman. Just wanted to share our experience. Sorry you got a bad tent. Hope you were able to get a refund or replacement.
@hildegardvonbingen4062 жыл бұрын
@Collin Lutz Yup. We seem to be rain magnets when we camp, and we never put up the tent without a tarp footprint below and an extra tarp above. WIth the Coleman Sky Lodge, the extra tarp can be held nicely in place by laying it between the tent top and the attached rain fly. Happy camping all!

Seems like you got a defective tent… this would be covered by Coleman’s warranty and weather tech technology

This is bad news for coleman. But my suggestion cuz I have 3 coleman tents. Get the orange octagon with full fly. 13x13.
