Thank you for explaining the cost of living in Barcelona. Currently I live in Los Angeles which is very expensive. Barcelona seems well worth the cost. Could you please do an interview with a single retired woman who moved to Barcelona on her own? I would love to know how she was able to make friends, find activities, etc. My Spanish is very basic but I can communicate. I like to be active, especially participate in sports. I am planning to visit Barcelona in May to check it out for a month. Could someone like me rent a room in a home with a family so I don't feel alone? Thank you!!

@@NatashaBergen are there any places to avoid when picking for a place to rent? Is the place generally safe? How’s the condition of the house apartments vs the price? Planning to move via non lucrative visa. Do you think that’s a good route?
@NatashaBergen3 жыл бұрын
@@stocksmarts_ In general, Barcelona is very safe, you just have to keep your wits about you like in any major city in the EU to avoid pickpockets, etc. I would suggest avoiding the Gothic quarter, and Raval area as they have a reputation of being loud and there can be some problems late at night. Some people also say to avoid Besos but in my opinion it doesn't seem bad. If you look farther out from the centre like in Sant-Gervasi or Les Corts or Badalona (not exactly Barcelona), you have some really great options that are worth it. Eixample and Poblenou are also lovely! The conditions of places really depend on the owners; sometimes you have excellent places that are worth what you're paying but other times it's overpriced. As for your visa, I can't see why not, if you meet all the requirements it seems great to me! The Spanish lifestyle is very relaxing 😁
