Sentient isnt the right word. The danger lies in it being self sufficient for its development. People are scared it will become independent and its actions uncertain. When AI can develop itself, the rate of speed of it would become doubling and dazzling. The exact point AI could become self suffienct for its development is called "Technical singularity". Scientists and philosophers have been talking and writing about this for decades now. As for it to be sentient, like humans are, it requires a soul. That will never be possible without the will of Allah.

I used to teach math... and witnessed the decline of basic math skills with the availability of basic calculators.... and with that, children's sense of scale also went out the window.....

A.I is limited. One solar wave and all electronics will get fried. So A.I will be destroyed. A.I can't enter a human brain either. So it's just as ordinary as any other electronics.

The brain has two hemispheres the left and right. AI will be able to do everything from the Left hemisphere, and will use the left side to mimic the right sides actives.

Disagree on several points. Invention of wheels made people lazy...is this a bad thing? AI will increase the expectations of jobs and future jobs will be more challenging. AI has creativity. It can draw pictures, write new stories and even explain why a joke is funny.

Invention of wheels is not a good analogy. But if we accept that, the next point is whether wheels have made people lazy or not. Even if we again accept that, the third point would be about laziness itself. Being lazy is definitely a bad thing. So there you go.
