When I was a kid I can't tell you how disappointed I was when I popped in the cartridge and it was one player. I would of loved this.

It is honestly just disgraceful that they had the balls to release a game called "Double" Dragon and it ended up being a Single Dragon game instead. smh

It's most likely because of the limitations at the time, this was their second run-in for the company when it comes to console games.

Actually, in the NES version, Jimmy is the gang boss, so, technically, it still can be called Double Dragon.

@@aweirdredtoad3637 Wut? The limitations at the time? Well, Konami made several TMNT games, 2 player coop, River City Ransom. Even Double Dragon 2 and 3 are coop on the same hardware on the NES... On top of that, this video with the hacked rom shows that it was indeed possible.

Emulator with remove sprite limit option used. It's also overclocked, although I didn't actually check if there is a slowdown problem without it.

Great hack! Any plans to do 4 player vs races in Mickey’s Speedway USA N64, and if so, I wonder if there’s a GameShark code that enables music in 3P/4P modes like with Diddy Kong Racing?

I actually have played it. Unfortunately, because of an oversight, one of the races was missed, so I can't upload a video of the game until I am able to record the missing stage. As for music, I was able to get that working, although it doesn't work perfectly.

I just noticed Billy's skin color is different. was that changed because of the nes color limits with 2 players?

My guess is it was because the original version was considered to be incorrect. The color in this hack is a closer match to the version of Billy that shows up in Mode B.

I already made a 2p Double Dragon 2 video. I plan to eventually make a new one at some point, but there's nothing really wrong with the one I already made.
