I love how you dealt with the moment of silence. When you see things often it’s also necessary for your own humanity.

9:34 they do touch on this in the 2cd or 3rd episode, where one of the med students breaks some ribs doing CPR trying to save a crashing patient.

You will be pleased to know that a few episodes later, one of the med students breaks ribs doing CPR and is told that's how he knows he's doing it right. Also, while it's fun to see medical doctors react to shows, sometimes you guys need to remember that every single detail can't be included in a show because there's a thing called run time, and that matters. And sometimes angles are for the camera, not for accuracy - by necessity.

Yeah you will enjoy the review for episode 2 and 3 that I’m working on currently. Really what these shows need, if ER specifically then a panel that includes ER tech, nurse, RT, and doc. Obviously you can’t include all details but the details that are included should still be realistic and accurate.

This is great! I’m planning to go into ER nursing after I get my RN (I’m an RPN or practical nurse but have been floated to ER units to care for stable admits-to-no-beds in my previous job), so I love hearing about real experiences from doctors and nurses in the field.

As a former LPN who’s now an ER RN, go for it!!! Get versed in critical care and learn your meds, and don’t let anyone stop you from meeting your goals!

I'm not a doctor, but as someone that spends a lot of time in doctor's offices and hospitals.. this is easily one of the best medical dramas I have ever seen. Also, it seems to be one of the most realistic.

Nice critique. I think it would be interesting to learn more about how different experience and knowledge is passed down depending on a med student's/resident's teaching hospital. E.g., using ultrasound vs. ordering xray for something like pneumothorax.

Obviously, they're not gonna do anything dangerous on live extras (re: the LUCAS) but otherwise, I've seen reactions by other doctors on YT being impressed with how accurate the show is just from the first episode.
@DoctorTaylor_Reacts5 күн бұрын
@@AdderTude yeah it’s impressive but needs better. And for the Lucas. Again, as I mentioned. If the editorial cut is just right or it’s a realistic body you can give that appearance.
@DoctorTaylor_Reacts5 күн бұрын
@@AdderTude and I did this channel as a reaction yes, but this is more than a review. I called it a critique. We are looking at details that some doctors reviewing don’t discuss. When episode 2 and 3 is done and posted you will def see more of what I mean. Episode 2 critique is a little more extensive. Doctor Mike just posted a review, great review for sure, but you will notice how in depth this went beyond his especially coming from an ER doctor where I am critiquing on a different level.
@ada58515 күн бұрын
I think the amount of criticism in the review depends on the doctor’s specialty. I would expect an ER doctor to have a more detailed critique and “nitpick” certain things for a show set in the ER setting compared to a family doctor like Dr. Mike (although he would have had rotations in multiple specialties as a med student, he is more removed from this specific context). I have seen another ER doctor who was also critical about different details in the first episode of this show.

@DoctorTaylor_Reacts15 күн бұрын
@@christianheco8648 likely yes, but the monitor/ekg changes are not typical of hypercalcemia and none of the patient’s story indicated hypercalcemia.

Already 4 episodes in and you never see a trauma xray at all

@ I was thinking the same thing in eoisode one like whoaaaa you’re gonna set a degloved extremity no X-ray to see if or how it’s dislocated or broken and no post reduction lol
@DoctorTaylor_Reacts3 күн бұрын
Yeah I get even for lung eval they keep doing ultrasound with the linear transducer to rule out pneumothorax which technically is more sensitive then X-ray for ruling that out but also to be done properly to rule it out needs 6 places of ultrasound, 3 each side of the chest, which takes time and it’s much easier to just get a chest X-ray, u can at least have a look at the mediastinum, ribs, etc.
