This makes perfect sense. I heard the Television song Days after i heard the Real Estate album with the same name. and i swear i was convinced at the time that this gem must have been the Real Estate blueprint song for the album because style wise its very similar.

Richard Lloyd revealed to an interviewer the main lick is "Mr. Tambourine" backwards (for all you guitarists). Television's version is a little peppier but this is very sweet and reverential.

This and The Dream's Dream are my fav Television tracks. I hate cover versions in general (except if u are the pet shop boys and covered elvis) and i was ready to freak out before i hit the play button. It's fine :) Close to the original with more chill vocals. It didn't disturb me at all :) Nice!

Very typical of the music world for mondanile (debatably the backbone of the band, in terms of song writing) to turn out a sexual degenerate. Makes me wonder how the band didn’t realise for the 7~ years they worked with him, but also wether they would have fired him at all had this happened in the 60s-70s. I hope he can repent and the band can return better than ever, but this is unlikely when considering this fallen world and what he is likely guilty of.

That doesn't mean they're not as good as they used to be. It wasn't my favourite album either, but that's just because it wasn't really meeting my tastes as much as their earlier stuff did. Objectively, they're currently the tightest they've ever been, musically.
