Another good tip is every couple of months go to a football pitch or open land, walk out about hundred yards off spool tie it to something that won't break, walk back with rod an stretch the line, cut it off where you've tied it to an reel in under tension, keeps the line nice an limp with no coils, perfect for slack lines or range fishing, hope that helps anybody

LEON BARTROPP CARPER you sometime expect new lines to be springy not this line , casts nice , catfish fought like hell needed the 18 , cats have caught up to 60 lb

good vid again bro, i very nearly bought this about a year or so ago but dint have much to go on feedback out there, ive always used esp lines from many years ago and that never let me down so when i restarted fishing again and forgetting alot of knowlage and how much things have changed with in ten years,the first line i bought this time round was the ngt camo line (bare in mind ive restarted fishing again lol) that stuff streched like a soft shock leader so no finger stalls was needed lol little tip there for ya mate (bulk shock leader ngt camo line) other than than that the line was nice to work with the reason i changed it i was thinking to my self if it streched on the cast was it stretching out on the bites and me not knowing about them,so i went back to old days and looked what i used then what was esp so i bought the good old synchro xt 12lb,offers me much better knott strength and with smaller knotts blends to the water well and casts like a banchee,my question is and i think you might find it a hard one but what do you think is better gardner line or esp line, i dont think there will be much to go on and i understand you will need time to find out properly

+Jason Cutts hi Jason, ive used the Synchro for around a year and whilst it's a great line it did tend to twist up after 6 months use, the GT-HD ive only been using for about a month or so and so far so good

ive never had that issue with line twists but i tend to use alot of square inline leads,ive never noticed them spin on the retrives but at fast cranking you never know they might be working as a spin doctor for me,but i think ill invest in one of gardners lines next time round

I can see some of the tackle companies bringing out "carpy green" tupperware now for loading 4oz spools! LOL. I'm slight annoyed I never thought of a similar method. LOL. Top video, I like what your doing Leon, ur doing something different, its refreshing and top notch.

I’ve literally just opened my GTHD line in 15lb and done 20 snap tests with it put it straight back in the box and sent it back it’s the weakest line I’ve tested I tried to alongside Korda touchdown and that was much stronger so disappointed as it looks nice but won’t even bother trying the 18lb it probs won’t be much stronger.

@@LEONBARTROPPCARPER literally sent it back couple of days ago and they’ve sent me a new one it’s absolutely awful mate I’ll never use Gardner for anything again the line coming off the spool is overlapping so it’s getting snagged every time I try to spool it up it’s that bag it’s kinking every few meters of line so it’s becoming damaged I’ve videoed it and sent it to the shop I bought it from and they said it’s not good they’ve asked me to sent it back again to have a full refund also sent it to Gardner but had no reply I got Korda touchdown like I used previously and it came off the spool perfect and went on perfect can’t beat them imo don’t get me wrong I loved the Gardner line how it felt and responded but they need to check how it’s been spooled up in the factory because it’s not right I wanted to try for a third time but couldn’t bring myself to do it

If you’re not happy with it then use something else as confidence is everything

+Jack Revell I'm not used Korda lines, I've used the Syncro for around 14 months and liked it but got very Wirey and twisted a lot recently after being used a lot, the GT-HD so far has been very good but it's early days

Hi Matt, Yes i like the GT-HD, one little thing that could be a negative for some people is that it does rise up off teh bottom which if your fishing a weed free water could be a problem

John Panter I found that GT80+ goes brittle after a while. Not had the same problem with GTHD, and also GT80+ is very stretchy

How did it do after a while?? What line are you using now?? Using a line atm which is so hit and miss I can't trust it. Casting around 15 to 30 wraps avg what would you recommend. On a very weedy lake with carp to 50lb

There are 2 or 3 lines that are very good gardner gt-hd, ESP synchro or Kryston oblivion all good lines

Finally found a vid about GT-HD where the comments aren't turned off... (I wonder why!!) In over 30 years of fishing I have never came across a WORSE mono line than this one. Spooled correctly, before anyone asks, the line twist and abrasion qualities are shocking. Got suckered in by the company's own review which waxes lyrical about the product. Only used for Two sessions, can't wait to rip it off my reels and go back to anything from Nash or Fox. Poor poor mono in my opinion!!
