Consider Hydraulics for this one. Should be way easier to make something like hoses with a claw that move in various direction, then actually going into all the trouble with servos or something else using mechanical parts. Control could be a huge challenge and I don't even know if a Dr. Octopus arm would be able to support itself. You will probably have to use very thin arms. Maybe something like this metal hose of a shower with pressure-able chambers inside that allow you to make portions stiff or loose and then some intricate design with hoses around it, that can bend the soft sections in multiple directions? Idk. Either way sounds like a fun challenge.

I don't recall off-hand if they ever used it in the movies, BUT it is a mainstay of his offensive arsenal in the comics. Having it there is more than just an aesthetic choice. It's a necessity AND a practicality. Iron man is, of ALL the super heroes, My favourite.

What everyone misses is the exoskeleton! That is what multiplies the strength!! I’ve seen a couple of exoskeletons in the military, maybe you could plate armor one of those exoskeletons. All the tech is available, you could minimize some Ivision pros, and fit them into the helmet then you could have augmented reality and ai. I have seen this Italian dude that has developed thrusters mounted in the back and arms, you could minimize that tech also and make it fit the suit so the suit could fly, and I bet you could minimize a great deal of weapons and weapon systems to fit the suit! Now they have developed in Asia some kind of battery that does not go flammable by any means, so you could use that tech too! I thinks its about time to make a real functional Iron Man suit.

Build idea i guess: What about a pool table, It automatically places the balls when you begin. But there is a twist, pool tables surface changes. Sometimes there will be some bulges in the fabric, so the balls will roll down or away. Also to make it cool, add some LED Lights under the barriers. The reason the arc reactor is in the middle of the chest was because of the shrapnel he had inside him. He then developed the chest beam and kept it that way.
