Man.... Mr., I really appreciate this video. I just ordered 2 pair off Amazon for my mom and I. Haven't got them yet, but a friend of my dropped by my job 2 c me & he knows how bad I need these. So he said he ordered me some to surprise me then I informed him that I just ordered them myself... anyway, he left me the one's he had on until mine get here. Thanks for taking the time to post this video. I was expecting great sound when I bought these. When I got the box , it was shipped inside a dog food box. The LG box looked real but there was some discoloration on the red backing material. Thought I got a used box at first. Then I listened to them and they were terrible. I knew I would return them at that point. Then I saw all the accessories missing and figured I'd check for a scam on KZbin. Here it is. I got mine off eBay so it seems the issue is not just with Amazon. I filed a case with eBay and PayPal. I won't be spending a penny to return these and I want the seller to get the hint. I sent him a pretty intense letter on my feelings on counterfeit products. (More for me to vent than to actually get him to stop:). Thanks for spreading the word! Update: I got my money back and get to keep these POS headphones as the seller doesn't want them back. Not sure what to do with them but they do work. Probably OK for phone calls but not music...

Okay I just bought my LG Headset from the actual Tmobile store and in the box were the two pair of changeable earplugs, a USB code no charge end..... Oh and the product. It has the LG logo on it and everything else.... Now I'm confused.

I did watch the video and all I noticed missing was the transformer the manual and the rubber ear buds. Which would weigh less than a Clementine all combined. So how could you possibly feel that it was lighter.

I am very glad you put this up. I, too, got the fakes, but I got the black ones. The differences were the same as you described in general, but the phone/Bluetooth light was red, not blue and on the left where the LG logo should be by the volume controls there was the same "TEAR INVALID". I didn't know these were fakes until I just got a pair of real ones and the quality difference is HUGE. The fakes had a horrible microphone that couldn't be understood over phone calls and if you are using an iPhone or iPod, the fakes will not activate Siri where the real ones will. The fast forward and review buttons will also not fast forward or reverse in the audio you are listening to. They only jump to the next or last song or program. The real ones will. The voice on the fakes say "Power on, Power off, Battery Low, Pairing, and Incoming Call". That is all they say. The real ones tell battery level as you said. The real ones also play a musical tone for incoming call and say "Call Answered" then -beep beep- "Call Ended" Also, the fakes broke pretty easily starting with the joint between the part going around the neck and the part where the controls are, then the left ear shorted out and quit...the reason I got real ones from Best Buy (thanks to my lovely wife who ordered them for me to pick up) Again, thank you for posting this. More people should see this before buying. If I had anything to offer for advice to you it would be just to pick up the pace a little and be prepared before the video. Rehearse, I guess. ( "Pearlescent" is pronounced pearl-es-sent. These things do not have any added smells. :) You mean they have that kind of rainbow effect color that the fakes do not) But still this was very good. Joseph - thank you for talking the time to make the helpful post. Maybe I can offer you a video tip. Try using a white or light colored background when shooting video of a white product. Your camera quality was good when the item was up close but likely tried to balance to the black surface instead when the product was laid on it. Try a white sheet or even some other light color materials. It works for me and I hope it helps you out.

I just got mine today from eBay (The LG Tone HBS-750 ones). My blue earpiece came with the official LG logo on them, a total of three earbuds, the phony manual (that makes no sense), and a computer USB charger. NO home charger. It was my first set of these, so I had no idea until I began to watch some review videos later on today. I've tested it and it works really well. Everyone can hear me crystal-clear and I can hear them perfectly.... I did pay half-price for these, so I guess I can't get too mad. BUT if I am going to pay for a knock-off, at least TELL ME. I would've gladly paid a few extra bucks for the real deal. I just don't feel like returning it, and then waiting for mail during this Christmas Holiday. *sigh* Thanks for the vid.

If you got fake lg tones hmmmokinteresting, your phone will only display HBS 730 when it pairs, if they are real, your phone will display LG HBS 730 on the screen. Fakes won't have LG before the model number under bluetooth.

I bought an HBS-700 which turned out to be just like the "fake" one shown here, but I only paid $13.99 for it and it works fine (excellent sound quality, no trouble pairing it, etc), so I'm satisfied with my purchase. I knew I was getting a cheap Chinese knock-off at that price but as long as it works, no complaints here. But if I had spend $50 or $60 on a name-brand item and received this, I probably wouldn't have been a satisfied customer.

I got them with a phone I purchased at Cricket... they are actually BT-007 Bluetooth BLAST! Box has "Bright Accessories" on the top. She said that they were supposed to be $15, but she gave them to me for $10 with my phone purchase. She told me that they were cheap headphones. Every detail of them is exactly as you have shown on the fake ones in your video, except mine are pink. Thanks for sharing and everyone beware! If you want these cheap ones... just go to Cricket Wireless and get them for $15. They actually work okay, but I wouldn't know any better because this is my first set ;-)

i just got these yesterday as a xmas gift. i have to say, not sure where mine were purchased from but they did arrive in the same exact packaging as the 1st pair he opened. how ever there are a few differences, my buds look like the 2nd pair, my owners manual & warranty slip are originals & i got a couple of extra silicone bud replacements. Also my on off switch is exactly the same as the 2nd pair. On day 1 they work great with my iphone 6. back to this review comparison i go.

From the video it made me think that I bought some fake ones also. Mine seem to work very well. My son broke mine by pulling the headphone wire until one of the headphones stopped working. I just pulled off the tear invalid sticker off mine and it has the LG logo under it. And my box that it came in has the original product sticker in the right place.. Did they make different versions of the LG Tone + HB 730

Go to ebay. $7.99 for the fake ones. They don't put LG on it. Interesting thing is when you watch a review of someone that paid $50 plus for this type product were unhappy with the fakes(mainly because of aesthetics not being the same as LG). Everyone that paid less than $8 were totally happy with the functionality of the product and no complaint about the aesthetics.

You will have to go to the Best Buy store and do the price challange. Make sure whatever you price challenge is shipped and sold by Amazon.They will honor for example Sold by LG and shipped by Amazon. Best Buy will not honor 3rd party retailers.

i would also highlight one more very important point is that i am not concerned with outer lights and color. what is important is call quality, battery standy time, call time, interference, audio quality. If the fake one has good battery life, call quality, 20 meters at least range then i will go for it. I mean i will buy it. Unfortunately fake ones does not have 20 meter range, if you just go little far 5 -7 meters the calls get disconnected, then their is no battery life within half hour to 1 hour the battery gets finished...this is my real study, also their is no charger cut off means your fake one bluetooth will burn if you forget to remove from plug in charge for say after 1-2 hours, i don't know exactly how many hours it take to charge but certainly if you keep for long hours your fake one will blow off. It does not have cut off circuitry..

All of the differences you mentioned are strictly cosmetic. You didn't say one thing about the quality of sound quality of the product in general. Does it really matter if the on the off switch goes right to left or left to right? I bought a knockoff pair for $7.99 over two years ago on eBay and they have worked perfectly ever since.

I bought a pair of fake HBS 700 earbuds without even knowing it was originally from LG, because it came in a different packaging without LG logo. The unit has an APT-X logo instead of the Bluetooth and LG logo. Mine did only cost me €5 euros though, and I already assumed it'd be a cheap China gadget, so I'm not going to complain. They're actually pretty decent for that price (aside from the occasional skip), but if you'd pay the original price (or even more than $20) for a counterfeit, it'd suck very much indeed. Good video for those who have bought those with a near-indistinguishable box though, because the Chinese are constantly getting better at faking electronics.

They sound really good actually. Well, near to seven months after this video I have to say that the fake ones really improved, I got scammed (and at same time not because they costed me around US$35, the half of the real ones here) by a local store, now they have a lot of voice notifications (not all and most times too loud, battery level and distance warning still missing), now the white ones are pearlescent (I don't know for the black ones since I don't own them), the box still the same, not very sharp and no original logos, the sound is pretty decent compared with some "original" wired earbuds with good bass, the battery last around 6-7 hours and around 2 to charge from zero to full, in osx are detected in stereo mode for music play and mono mode for calling (like skype) sometimes they switch and skips randomly, in windows I'm not able to make them work in stereo mode, just mono and that really sucks, the phone detects it now as LG HBS-730 like the real and in my s4 the music playback is smooth and no skips yet, the phone calling quality is just average, you can hear well but seems that the other party doesn't, at the moment I'm unable to activate S voice commands with this handsfree set, the earbuds now look like the second ones from video and fit nicely in each case, I have a few days with them, three full charges 'till now so I think the time will tell, at this rate it's gonna be really hard to judge real stuff from fake one and speaking in terms of money I think that I have more than half of functionality of real HBS-730 for a few less than it's real cost so I went cheap I got cheap that's why I can't complain, the bad is when you pay full price for a quality original product and obtain one of this clones

Like you said, the problem is when they try to sell these fake ones for the cost of the real deal. BUTTT, the AT&T store doesn't put everything in a bag like that. If you get the 730 model, it will come in a box with the headphones being displayed when you open the front cover. I bought mine from amazon and they were real, but you just never know what kind of jackass is on the other end of your transaction trying to rip you off...SMH. Very helpful video!!!

well i got the new style knock offs and they are SPECTACULAR! they sound ridiculously awesome! when i got them i charged them up fully and then paired them up to my phone. THEY OUT LASTED MY PHONE! i got better than 13 straight hours on them with the volume up. the bass is beyond nice! they are very crisp and clear! the range, yes i tested out and was able to go 75 feet before i ran out of room at the apartment building. the distance is not good at all through walls because it's Bluetooth. the bad its hard to get the buds into the magnetic holder because of the slight good that the new style has, and with the new style, the phone shaped button is easily pressed and often gets pressed by my seat belt! the bass can be slightly deeper than you want on a phone call but all and all they are SPECTACULAR! and we're LESS THAN 20BUCKS! GO GET A PAIR!

There is definitely a sound quality difference. The fakes sound ok, but the real ones sound great. The mic on the fakes don't work very well either. But the real issue is the fakes will fall apart within a couple of months even if you are careful with them.

They are not fake if you go to LG.com and look @ the 1st version of the 730s you will see thats what they are n that they had redesigned the 730s right before they release the 750s n they redesigned the 730s because of Motorola similar headset n how people say everything is fake when everything we buy in the USA is made in china n shipped over here to these companys and they just put their name on it now does that make sense to anybody, now I know a lot of people gon still say the same thing it fake I wouldn't buy but tell me this you would rather pay $700 for a brand new iPhone 6 when I paid $150 for an iPhone 6 straight from the manufacturer and everything on it works fine only thing is it don't have Apple on it, come on think about it in China they pay $150 for iPhone n USA we pay $800 max n the Philippines they pay $1500 now you tell me whos getting the better deals on electronics n especially when in the USA they just going to buy the newest n the same phone or electronics next year

I buy this product on flipkart because if white colour and then i only got on the package headphone and the cable but i get original headphone... I compare with the video that original headphone is same of my headphone which i buy. On flipkart but sound is not so good.. The sound only have much yreble and low bass perfomance.. So on ebay or flipkart take care of this and don't forgot to see pakage include items and reviews.

Just so you know: Not everything sold on Amazon is being sold BY Amazon. Most likely this was sent by an independent seller, and Amazon takes complaints of this sort very seriously. They will disable seller accounts completely for stuff like this. I totally agree that they SHOULD, because you obviously didn't get the LG headphones you paid for. But Amazon itself likely wasn't responsible for the scam. Most likely the seller saw a steal of a deal online, purchased a ton of them from a black-marketer, and has been selling them on Amazon because they have no idea that they purchased "bad goods". Not criticizing your analysis nor the disappointment of having ordered them on Amazon and having received the fake goods - I'm just saying that Amazon isn't trying to scam people by selling the fake goods "knowing" that most people won't know or complain.

I have the "fake ones" and the work better than the LG pair I had and I only paid like $10 for them...
