I’m not sure if anyone has already commented but the word “hella” is a slang normally associated with NorCal such as the Bay Area (San Francisco.) The SoCal equivalent would be “grip”.

These Real Life videos are great! Watching and learning from a real-life situation is so much more interesting and engaging than a lesson/classroom format. Also, it really makes you realise the level you need to be at to understand the normal speed at which natives speak, which seems super fast to new learners!

Thanks for the very interesting real life situation. It was hard to follow the interactions with the waitress though. Subtitles disappeared so fast, so I kept pausing the video and rolling backwards. I think it would have helped a lot to repeat slowly what had been just said between you and the waitress. That's just a humble suggestion for future similar videos.

안녕! Video was very on point. I watched the video then I had my 점심. ㅋㅋㅋ 지금 너무 배불러. ㅋㅋ 그리고. 두 가지 질문이 있어요. 1) usage of 좀, in the sentence like 물 더 주세요. Because other channels teach to say: 물 더 좀 주세요. Maybe they just want us 외국인 to be extremely polite. 2) How about table water (free water from the tap) in Korean restaurants. Do they give it or not? There are countries were that is a normal practice but in some it’s not. How about Korea? 감사합니다.

I have a question: Why is it that for “배불러” and “너무 배부르다” the translations both have the “I am” part in parenthesis? Also, loved this video! It’s the first of yours I’ve watched and I’m definitely hooked!
@sandrasong8989
@sandrasong8989 3 жыл бұрын
because the " I am" part is not literally said in Korean. it's assumed you are talking about yourself and therefore, omitted. So you are actually saying "hungry" and assuming the listener knows you are talking about yourself.
