Hey friends,
So many have asked to see just how I do our morning basket, from how I do my 24 family ways, to how I do our read aloud. So I thought this would be perfect. Do my morning basket with me in real time. This is how we do it, there is no wrong way.
This video is a collab with two other awesome ladies.

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your real-ness! I love that you left in some correction of your kids and talked about disruptiveness and not doing the experiments because of some attitude issues!! This happens in our home and it’s so incredibly nice to not feel alone!

Thank you for showing real life! I feel like it is something that is lacking on social media and KZbin these days, especially in the area of homeschooling. Goodness it sure does make this mama feel a little better that I’m not the only one dealing with bad attitudes, disruption, lack of cooperation, sibling squabbles, etc. And I love seeing other moms handle it and talk about it, too. 🙌🏻

After the kids were arguing and you finished handling it and then you said "okay"... That simple "okay" made me laugh out loud. That was the universal mom version of "okay". 😂

This is probably THE best homeschool video I’ve seen. We started homeschooling this year and I have honestly stressed myself daily over my sons attitude and every video I watch the kids are respectful and “love school” and the mom always has everything together and does everything perfect. It made me feel so much better to know I’m not the only one getting on to my kid or begging him to pay attention. I so appreciated that!

THANK YOU for showing real life! I was beginning to wonder if my kids were the only ones constantly fighting or disrupting. It can be so disheartening - but like you said, this is hard and not for the faint of heart so I'm powering through! More of this please! 🙌🙌

Thank you so much for sharing your morning basket time! I love how you don’t sugarcoat or gloss over things during your homeschool day-kids can be very disruptive at times and just have bad days in general! It’s so encouraging to know that no one is alone in dealing with these types of behaviors! 😊

We used 24 family ways. I work so hard on teaching them values and truth to live by. It is probably the number one goal that I have - and I get SO discouraged. This video just knocked my socks off for reasons I wouldn't have realized. I totally need tips on my morning basket routine, but GIRL. Do you ever feel like you're just spinning your wheels talking about peacemaking? I thought I was alone when I had to discipline my kids for something I had taught them for the 30th time just 20 minutes before. I'm not alone! It reminds me that we do this for the long game. We plant seeds and plant and plant and nurture and discipline while we trust God to give the growth. I feel so encouraged now. This IS the life. This IS the training up. Thank you for not just deleting and trying again the next day. I am so grateful!

Love this so much. I think looking from the outside it can seem like other moms "have it all together" or their kids behave all the time so it's refreshing to see people you look up to having the same struggles ♥️♥️ Homeschooling is so rewarding but sometimes you just have those days where you start questioning whether your cut out for this work 😂

I just found your channel and I really enjoy it. I have just started looking into the Good and Beautiful curriculum. Do you use it for all subjects? I have a big age difference in my oldest to second child. My children are ages 11,6,4,&11 months. At what age did you find it easy to combine some subjects together? I struggle with morning time because I feel like if I read to the younger ones my oldest isn't interested.

Yikes....this video was my WEEK last week 😩(only worse cause younger kids). So happy to have put it behind us. Keep going, mama. I’m really debating doing tgtb science next year 😏 .. wondering if it would still be too early for my 7 year olds! My son knows a ton about animals and is itching to do the marine biology after we looked through it online so I was going to choose that one and Arthropods to spread the out over the year..... Anyone have any other suggestions I can check out?? We do nature study as science this year and will continue to do so...

Momma, you did a good honest job.... and I know Jesus knows your heart.. your ups, downs, strongholds, weaknesses, and just like the air, He is there with you. THANK YOU for this breathe of fresh air video of what your morning is like as a homeschooling family. I myself have literally learned from this visual demonstration. You showed me you don't have to be perfect, just willing..... honest..... present..... forgiving yet firm... and ALL of that is just awesome. Again, thank you for taking the time to share with us all. I know its not easy and I just want to say if you didn't get 100% of your to do list done, you have helped a fellow homeschooling mama. GOD BLESS

Thank you for this, it was so insightful. We are only 14 months into Home Education. We are still finding our groove. We try not to recreate school at home. I don't think all of my kids would sit for as long as 40 minutes for science. My eldest would, my second might and my twin boys who are 6 definitely wouldn't. How would you approach the age/stage difference?

Thank you so much for being transparent with us! This is my second year homeschooling (ages 7,10,13). It can be a challenge to keep everyone attentive and with good attitudes- including me! We press on but I often feel like, this is NOT what I see on KZbin- what am I doing wrong! I love seeing your morning time with older kids! It has really given me some good ideas for older-kid activities!

Also, I've had to slack down on reading so much to my kids bc I can't keep my voice! Honestly, I didn't read even as much as I feel u do..not at all. We're always crushing for time 🙄 but I do talk a LOT to my kids throughout the day & my voice... It just gets so raspy! Does yours? Anything u take that helps? I use cough drops a LOT. My kids are still young so it's different I'm sure....when our days end up disruptive I do one of two things: add sunshine or add water. We go outside if we can. Sometimes we Starbucks school (which can be an adventure with literary learning 😂). If it's warm I'll let them run in the sprinkler for half an hour and then make them listen while they dry in the sun. ♥️ You're an awesome mama. Thanks for sharing with us!

The honesty of the dysfunctional moments is one of the more valuable parts in this video, for new HS moms like me. A lot of times we don’t get to see that and when we get pushback from our children in our own homes, we compare ourselves to what we see on KZbin or social media and think there is something wrong with us. So thank you for that 😊
