Casillas was just too old and underperforming nearly costing us undecima. As for Robben he made way for ronaldo so you can't complain there. Ozil was harsh but he made way for bale who I rate as maybe 5th best player in Europe right now. The only bad sale in recent years has been Di Maria for James which I thought was a terrible mistake. Not only was Di Maria a better player but he was more versatile in positions which means new managers like Zidane could have a chance at fitting him into a team as attacking midfielders like James aren't very useful in la liga or champions league

Well yes and no. It was a mistake because Di Maria was amazing and I'm sure there could've been opportunities for both of the to play throughout the season. But at the same time Madrid evolved to play more coordinated and controllable.

Di Maria was inconsistent and lost possession a lot. I still wouldn't have minded him staying, but he asked for a big pay raise which he didn't deserve, and that was a big reason Perez decided to sell him. James had a brilliant first season and a not-so-good second, but that's due to the change of management: he used to fit Ancelotti's vision but Zidane doesn't seem to favor him due to his slightly differing tactics.

He was too much of a loose cannon and depending on a loose cannon to make your team click is too risky in the long run. We may have used Di Maria to fund James but technically Kroos is the one replacing Di Maria on the pitch. With Kroos our midfield has become way more stable and consistent, it's not as flashy as when we had Di Maria but it get's the job done in a more subtle yet effective manner. James purchase has been a bust though, he was great in the first season so i wouldn't say it was a complete flop signing but ultimately he has no future at Madrid unless we change our entire system which ain't happening.

Gon zo I see what you mean, I am a Barca fan, but I have also admired several Madrid players. You are right however, he was very inconsistent. But when he was inform, he was nearly unstoppable. I like Kroos, I have admired his style since he came from the youth rankings in Bayern Munich, however, his only flaw is his defensive work rate, luckily Real Madrid were blessed with the talent of Casemiro to make up for it. For me, I always enjoyed the style more than that rather dullness that is efficiency. Maybe because I care to much about beautiful football rather than just getting the job done. Kroos isn't all that exciting to watch stylistically but he is so effective and efficient. At this point, I would consider James a bust, it will only make it worse if they decide to sell him.

Shipping Makelele was a ridiculous mistake, the others were all replaced. Flo is doing a great job, Ancelotti had to leave after shipping Özil and Di Maria when the team struggled for some time.

Bro why add Casillas? He never got rejected he just aged and his departure was predictable, everyone knew that he wanted to continue to play so no one expected him to retire, but we did expect him leaving, seeing that there was issues between him and the club late in his career with Real Madrid, but come one he was there most of his career, definitely not a reject.

I wouldnt call Casillas a reject.. He had a huge successful run and as a Madrid fan I know he is beloved forever.. The one missing from this list is Rafael Van Der Vaart who was only on the team for 1 year even though he played great... Then he went to Spurs and kept playing very well

So using the same logic you used when picking these 'rejects', if a player stays 3 years at a team, manages 82 assists and 27 goals in those 3 years, then he's somehow a reject. Furthermore, he's a reject because he was 'ditched' to free up space for a player that doesn't even play in the same position. Flawless logic!
