Real metal detecting in north Lancashire. Elizabeth 1st hammered silver half groat in amongst all the Russian lead bags seals and other artefacts and coins.
As well as the ubiquitous buttons and the odd copper coin in amongst a mountain of Russian lead bag seals, through a lot of perseverance and even more digging I managed to find a medieval hammered silver coin. An Elizabeth 1st half groat.

So lucky with your history there ... we have buggerall here in Africa besides colonial coins... oldest coin for me is a 1786 VOC duit and oldest English coin a cartwheel penny... bucket list is to dig a hammy one day

@@detectingdaft brother good or bad get them out metal detecting isn't smiles and roses it's all hard work and disappointment. you need to show the crap (although none of them bag seals were crap) so people don't go and buy metal detectors leaving more treasure for us.
