Fire sword goes straight to D tier, and it would go even lower if possible, this thing is an active liability. I have two major arguments. 1) Durability. You said it yourself, the fire damages the weapon. How long will it last until the edge is lost, or the sword becomes too damaged to be usable? I wouldn't want to find out in a fight, especially with how little the fire actually benefits. 2) Visibility. When you had your play spar, you noticed that the fire impacted your vision, making it difficult to judge where the end of your sword actually was. It is clear that this made you hesitant as well. It is one thing to say that you would not hesitate regardless against a real enemy, but that could also leave you out of position to defend yourself against them.

Well if it didn't T might lose his other/paying job with the the big stick nutter. So not sure we can accept that rating as unbiased.... On a serious note that is as it should be really, a long stout stick is a very hard weapon to actually beat, and of this list just about the only weapon with a particularly real and enduring historical analogue. The cartoon and meme weapons facing off against a 'real' weapon can only have one result.

Well the Upgrade with Wolfy claws in particular would be kinda obvious. Instead of Wolverine Claw's you switch over to Wolverine Claw.

I think it would be interesting at some point if you did "rebuilds" of some of your favorites. Ones where you feel like you could make one or two changes and improve them without sacrificing the heart of the design.

I've thought that with some of his builds but with more time allowed to go into the build instead of being rushed, since some of the rushed builds always seemed to have flaws from the materials used and not always the design itself. while it would also be nice to see more built to be the lore accurate size, with how almost anything he's used or talked about that's 5lbs 2.5 kilo or heavier seems to always be to heavy to be practical for anything I don't think most would get a fair rating even if they ended up far better.

I think there is exactly one benefit to wolverine claws in canon, adamantium asside. They are part of his body and always available for use. That's it.

That is a pretty good bonus, and I would say they have one further benefit - as not only are they always there waiting for use whenever he needs them but even if they were just bone/steel having them be so much more integral to his arm as they must be anchored into his forearm somehow - so to actually be able to disarm him, blow through a block etc would be an extra challenge if they were real in ways T can't really replicate as he has to hold them not have them anchored to his skeleton... With that more durable attachment they would fight rather more like a genuine weapon as they are along the lines of the Indian pata, just with the three blades (which is suboptimal), so while I personally don't think the gauntlet sword style things are great weapons they really existed for long enough they can't be garbage...

Hey Tyranth! I loved this video! I wasn't even aware of the Caestus video. I'll have to go back and watch it. I wonder if it would help the channel if you did videos discussing a theoretical weapon and how one might replicate it IRL, and setting a like goal for that 1st video to actually make a follow up video actually building and testing the weapon. This would do a couple things: a. boost the channel through extra interactions so more people join b. build up hype for the buiding/testing video which will help boost the 2nd video when it is finally released. c. give you a barometer to determine audience interest in a particular weapon relative to other weapons. d. basically doubles the video content you are able to produce on this channel which boosts your "consistency" in the algorithm I think this would almost definitely help you do more projects like this, which I definitely would like to see more of. Great video man. Take care.

I think that Wolverine's claws should be welded onto a pair of bracers. Pure plain and simple. Additionally, if you wanted to figure out how to functionally and practically fuse them with the hidden blade tech, doing so while welded onto a pair of bracers would make that task easier.

Other people have done Krull's weapon and it always comes out surprisingly well. The part where you threw the billy club at the target's head and then caught it was hard as fuck.

the hidden blade is 1. under my states 6inch concealed blade leagal limit 2. you cand just wear it under your sleeves in your day to day 3. it was never meant for combat

Understandable ratings, surprised you didn't mention your previous scoring for them, it would be cool to see that in comparison. The B rating is definitely for the cool weapons with lots of potential, but there is a catch to overcome.

My suggestions: The Flying Guillotine, the triple bladed sword from The Sword and The Sorcerer, the Damascus Blade from Battle Angel Alita (the manga version that's like a giant balisong), the double-ended chainsaw-staff from Shaolin Cowboy, the sword-chucks from 8-Bit Theater, Riddick's Ulaks, the chainsaw-chucks from Dr. McNinja, the Deathdealer Axe, the Beastmaster sword, the Klingon bat'leth, Freddy Kreuger's fright glove, the Gears of War chainsaw bayonet, the swiss army knife weapons from Five Element Ninja, and the "Jeet" weapon from Bruce Lee's notes.

I can see why the fire sword can't get higher than a B, but it is really cool. I was wondering if you had also thought about the potentiality blinding your opponent using the fire and going in for grappling or achieve an effect where it is hard to tell where the sword is coming from because the fire can be spread over a persons vision (especially at night, like how a lightsaber has an blur stream effect).

The claws should be up a tier. They were aligned before the 1990's corporate takeover of Marvel pushed away the real creators, and they were changed by teenaged artists. I'd put the death sickles at bottom tier, because as a single weapon, they are lame. Sure, dual sickles are cool, but that should be considered secondary

. So I personally would movie two things because of the danger to the wielder. The knife wheel, I would place in D tier because is can be dangerous to everyone, it is hard to handle, and the weapons can malfunction or get ruined easily. Then the fire sword, IDK if I would place it in D tier but at least C tier. Similar reasons really, as you said, the sword can easily lose its temper, and well... Fire. Cool but it doesn't care about friend or foe. When the fire goes out you now have a dull and/or brittle sword.

Firesword is underestimated because of the damage, but if you win the fight, you will be able to buy a new sword, or just pick up the opponents weapon. It is sword plus.

I patiently await your review of the effectiveness of dwarf-tossing. I know it's a sport where you live. They even included it in Lord of the Rings as an inside joke! Surely, your "B-tier" limit on thrown weapons can have an exception in that case. I know it's controversial...but it wouldn't have ever become a thing if there weren't some little people with good senses of humor. I feel like that should earn an automatic S-tier, just because I love people with a good sense of humor.

The problem with Woverine Claws, is that in the comics they are part of his body. So they have muscles and tendons that help reenforce their use. Can't replicate that easily in real world so the ranking is right.

I do think you need to retry the Claw another try. I say this as in the comics when he does the claws it lock is wrist and that was what you said was the worst part. I think you should try it again more like the fist that you rank as a S destine where it is locking your from your wrist (ie more like the claws on a gauntlet that locks the wrist). This way it is getting that internal effect even though it is external. Good job on this list.

There are two "fantasy" weapons I would like to see tested and discussed but I haven't encountered it yet. 1. Bombaata's morning star from Conan the Destroyer. It looks too big and clumsy to be effective. And that extra blade... But maybe it would work. 2. Ajax's maul from Troy. Again, big and clumsy but I know such things were occasionally used.

Oh, a set of nice 1 inch hardwood dowels, like Daredevil's clubs are nasty. I've seen a person use a really good stick in defense in real life. OMG the ass kicking this girl handed out was amazing. Dude went to hospital, cops let the girl go because she was MUCH smaller than her assailant (aka dirtbag ex-boyfriend), and a stick was a reasonable equalizer, PLUS the ex wasn't supposed to be anywhere near her OR be drinking. Of course, she had been taking self defense lessons in the 3 or 4 months after the breakup.

In game the Giza wheel and the whirligig saw function as clubs or hammers, with the blades spinning on strikes as well as the holding the blades out, but rating it as a hammer would probably give it a worse score.

im not sure why you have an issue with throwing weapons as a catagory of weapon.. its downsides of "throwing away a weapon" is the same downsides as any projectile weapon "using ammo".. once you throw/shoot all of the weapon('s ammo) you're out of a weapon.. its why you should always have some kind of melee weapon.

The problem is you get one toss with a thrown melee weapon, and you mess it up or your opponent dodges. You're stuck unarmed.

@@Jacky_boy001 thats not a problem.. just dont be stupid and throw a melee weapon. also dont be stupid and go into battle with just a throwing weapon.. (and if all else fails, dont throw your last weapon) a throwing weapon is not a melee weapon.. it can be used melee (much like you can stab a target with an arrow), but its meant to be thrown. hence having an actual melee weapon (like Blade having a sword along with his throwing knife/glaive thing).. throwing knives and ninja stars were always paired with a sword or other dedicated melee weapon..

​@@Jacky_boy001 I understand what you're thinking but I agree with @darcraven01 If you have three arrows and you shoot them, they're gone.. you could hold on to an arrow and have a stabbing weapon. So, If you had three pilum or 3 arrows, what's the difference ? Once they're gone they're gone. At least with a spear maybe you can retrieve it after it's been thrown, arrows are less likely they can break easily or be otherwise lost.

As a Yank who does own guns, I’d say the issue there is ammo is much more compact and light than a throwing weapon. The gun can be heavy, but individual ammo is always lighter so you can carry a lot more of it before running out. My daily carry pistol has 15+1 rounds of .45ACP before I run out. Typical cop loadout is 52 rounds of 9mm for their service pistol. And a soldier in the US Army would typically carry 7 magazines with 30 rounds each for their service rifle, totaling 210 rounds. That’s a lot more extras to throw than a single blade, or even a few.

There is an improvement you could make with the Wolverine claws that would improve stability, but I think it would still be a D tier weapon because of the other issues.

There's a kind of magic sword from something that has a projectile end of the blade and then I think the blade magically replenishes it's blade back to full length and can be fired again repeatedly. I don't remember where I know it from but I have a feeling it's a bad guy's sword from something like Conan.

The Chaos Blades should be equal to, or better than Mjolnir, seeing as how it is still connected to your wrist by a cable/wire (which was a negative you said for the Chaos Blades). Where Mjolnir is just a bludgeoning weapon, the Chaos Blades can chop, slice, and stab, making it a more versatile weapon. Purely an unbiased opinion of course!

Only one I really disagree with was Captain America's shield. You put the throwing glaive in B tier because its a throwing weapon, but the shield is meant to be a throwing weapon when used offensively. I would have personally put it in C.

so i mentioned this before on shad's videos on elden ring weapons and berserk videos but the most over looked thing about fantasy weapons, especially larger ones is A. a lot of anime/fantasy does this thing where they have no human limits ie you can work out and get stronger, and instead of getting physically bigger, your muscle becomes more dense rather then larger meaning you can become heavier, over bulkier there for larger weapons can work in theory because the center of mass has changed B. Metal types, not every planet is earth, they can have vastly different types of metal over our own planet, metals we can't even dream of

I think the Fire sword should be lower (and this comes from a Ghost Rider fan lol but I'm also a product designer and mechanic etc.. so logical..) the fire in this case adds nothing beneficial to a sword, it blinds the user, probably burns the user and could easily cause a lot of collateral damage. Imagine you're defending your house, oops you've just set the curtains on fire etc..

I disagree with your evaluation of death sickle. In your design it had a much more forward point more reminiscent of a farming sickle then what we see visually in the movie. I believe if it easily made more accuracy you would find alot more use out of the back curved edge and would be able to do more sickle fighting techniques. Thr way yours was designed was more like a kama in use.

It does seem strange that Cap's shield is only A-tier with the gloves being a step above. The shield provides enormous defense, it has greater reach than the gloves, it can be thrown if you want to. The gloves are just a set of upgraded brass knuckles that provide hand protection.
