I have had over 200 hours of training dealing with preschoolers. One of the really key things I learned was the brain development of children and the fact that they cannot - CANNOT - process abstract ideas until the age of 8 or 9. Until then, they are literal thinkers. Example: if you say to a four year old we are having chocolate mousse for desert, their mind goes immediately to a moose made of chocolate. Now there are exceptions, of course, prodigies, etc., however, you never set precedent using exceptions. This makes me think of the mind fracturing I have read about from survivors and how their brains compartmentalize into MPD's in order to survive the abuses. This is sick with a capital "S". I understand that CoS sees children as small adults, but doesn't make it right.

'Um. Whuh-aat? Well, that's pretty weird,' I thought. Then I just kind of brushed it off as, 'well they are Scientologists; must be a Scientology thing.' As an adult, I now feel it's wrong, although I do agree that admitting to a wrong helps to combat shame...But better to do that with a trusted loved one, no? However, my Catholic "education" was nowhere near good enough by other Christian's POV, like my cousin in an Evaangelucal church who signed a celibacy card. I remember back then I loved reading books. So I took the book home and tried reading it and couldn’t get past the first paragraph. I ended up throwing it out. Never talked to those ppl again. I was a typical teen, I wanted to be with kids my own age and working on my first kiss. My parents were Christians and were not into some crazy new religion. I realize now that God was watching over me, all my life. ❤

Scientology is not a church and auditing is not therapy.

I went into the Scientology centre in London in the late 90's. I wanted to buy a book to learn more about it. I was taken into a side room by a man and repeatedly asked for my name and address. I kept refusing saying I just wanted to buy a book. The man left and spoke to someone outside for a long time and then came back into the room. He gave me the book and I paid with cash and then he gave me my change. He gave me more money in change than I paid him for the book! So I left with the book and a profit. I thought about it after and decided this was a tactic to try and get me to come back. To make me think good things happen to Scientologists. They really are creepy and manipulative.

How creepy and manipulative would Suri's "auditing" have been? Especially compared to a non-celebrity 6 year old. Go Katie!

It up to be against the law for the Scientologist to work with young children. Scientology should be investigated thoroughly and put a stop to you!!

What Aaron describes about a child in auditing is exactly the same as I felt about being forced to attend school. Even as a child I knew they were lying to me. Still I was told to provide the answer they wanted to hear in order to pass the test so I could have a phucn' break during the summer rather than having to attend summer school. I resented having to go and hated every minute of it. Now looking back I'm annoyed that I was forced to attend a 12+ year long indoctrination camp where they teach people how to be good slaves.

I've never forgotten grade one. We were given a paper with a circle and the word Yellow underneath. We were supposed to colour it yellow because it was supposed to represent the sun. I coloured mine orange and crossed out the word yellow. Omg did I get in trouble for that. That was just the beginning. I ended up kicking my teacher in the shin for hurting a friend. School and I weren't a great match either.

@@lorimiller4301 I was sent to the hall for my questions a lot. The questions weren't inappropriate. The problem was in what the answers to the questions implied about the nonsense they were teaching.

How much has Tom given to his staff?!? Probably not a dime! They're already making $0.47 an hour through Scientology! Plus! They get the blessings of working around Tom Cruise all day!

I’m not a Scientologist nor have I ever been one, but from what I’ve learned about Scientology maybe Katie actually left because it’s insane and that anyone believes it is in saying themselves

must say that i've learned from these and from aaron's interviews as well. thank you both for helping us to understand more. if want to help these folks or at least be a listening ear to them we need to have some kind of clue what they went thru. hearing all these testimonies gives us a broader picture of the whole nightmare.

Tuning in from BC Canada Thanks so much guys. Great Conversation considering the topic. I have wondered for years and believed that the Jehovah Witnesses is on the "Cult" spectrum. It blows my mind that these people are drawn into this way of life!

Any kind of auditing of any child, I personally would consider child abuse! Full stop. the damage done is irreversible as it would put children under a traumatic experience. It's ridiculous that this is allowed to go on anywhere.

Also, Aaron, Harry is Charles's son. He is the spitting image of Prince Phillip. The only thing he shares with the other guy is red hair, which runs in Diana's family.

I'd never stop anyone believing what they want. But no one has the right to force their beliefs upon others and I don't know of any religion that commits child abuse. This auditing program needs to be criminalised.

I don’t understand why Scientology is called a church. It’s so far NOT. What they do is destroy lives and auditing on a new toddler is despicable. Good for Katie. She got out in a he nick of time saving her daughter and herself ‼️
