This week's video is funny. The real Japanese is dressed like a SG in casual TShirt and spoke wah lao Singlish while the real SGreans did the exact reverse. You all exchanged roles/ nationality, is it....🤔😅?? Wooo la la, Rakuten office with all the whatever free food, snacks etc sounds like Google, Apple offices. For me, I am surprised bcoz didn't expect a japanese office to be like that. LoL. I only know Rakuten online shopping, wow didn't know there's travel booking. So now I know, thanks to this video. One thing I agree w Ghib san tho. I am like him, I don't like cold winters/ weather. So I still prefer SG weather. If I want something cold, I can always take the next flight out. LoL.

I worked a few years in a Japanese company in Singapore before and because majority of the staff were Japanese expats, it was almost like working in Japan lol. As far as I could remember, Japanese companies place importance on two things at the workplace : Teamwork (no rambo please) and Office Harmony (no unnecessarily disputes, tension and quarrels).

Working in Japan is very dull in the office as people can`t really chat with one another. It`s constraining and salaries are much lower than Singapore! Japan is an extremely top-down rigid hierarchical structure. You don`t have an opinion. They are not benefits or perks. They are installed so that all the employees can spend more time overworking and so you can still have a haircut or massage chairs there. Unfortunately, most Japanese dislike Chinese people in general kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXWxZGiQipuXp9U

I think it is hard to generalise Japanese vs Singaporean dates/husbands. But some characteristics from my experience, the 'Japanese man' is more considerate, less wasteful, reserved, never complains (at least not out loud), hard to read. The 'Singaporean man' is generous, outspoken (tend to speak their minds), gentlemanly, more outwardly affectionate. Both have plus and minus points so it really depends on what you value more in a partner and your own character as well. Japanese women vs Singaporean women as friends? Japanese women are more 'open minded', I mean we can go onsen together without feeling shy. But even with very close friends in Singapore, it is still awkward to suggest seeing each other naked.

i disagree that japan is crazy expensive - 17.47. I just recently went on a trip. Ramen can be found which is cheaper than our bak chor mee here. Train rides for longer distances and yet less costly than our MRTs. Their car prices are also cheaper than Sg - A Alphard costs about SGD43k. Go figure the price of this after COE...

I used to be a vendor for several japanese companies here like Sumitomo, Shimano to name a few, I find Japanese companies have very high standards and very "process" style of working. I suggest anybody aspires to work in Japan to first try working for Japanese company here, if you like that "process style" then you will probably "be ok" with the working culture in Japan, I couldn't get used to it to be honest but everybody are different. Don't just look at the cute kawaii girls and think Japan is a great place to work. Just remember another thing if you want to work for any number 1 company or best company or most admired company whether it's japanese korean us they all didn't get there by being average, they got there because the top guys are slave drivers and axe wielders who pushed everybody below really hard to get results to get good profit and that means long working hours so why you think some places they give "free meals" their fridges stocked to the gills with coca cola and m&m chocolate, they have ps4 billard table massage chair for free use? So you can bond in the office with your co-workers all the time and really have no excuse to leave office waste time commuting outside even for your meal breaks too but I digress.
@哥坤-s7o
@哥坤-s7o Жыл бұрын
Ya true. By having so many goodies in the company, you won't feel like going out for meals. You have no stomach for outside food, thus saving travelling time and breaks, thus more time in office and improving productivity. Employees will be more satisfied and motivated. And most importantly you can save money on lunches and tea breaks.

i love your videos! i thought about working in japan previously loving the food and onsens/sentous when i passed the N1 exam previously instead of back in singapore.... But now, i look back , the taxes are very nice(percentage wise) , the pension is a super gorgeous black hole with great pull like an indiana jones cave with an adventurous uncertain ending and the final trigger was the huge rollercoaster downspin of the currency markets where i tearfully bid sayonara to my dreams...🥲🥲
@dennistani1986

Let me tell you about currency markets. Pick a currency, check out it's performance in the past 50 years. You'll see it goes UP and goes DOWN. Check out the US stock market in the past 50 years. It goes UP.... and goes DOWN...and hopefully goes up again. Almost no currency or stock market stays at the same valuation....Just saying.

You're right. Pension is like an Indiana Jones cave. 🤣 It's too bad... The living environment is awesome although the financial prospects are bleak, whereas Singapore is the opposite. Unfortunately when there are kids in the equation, finances become a big issue. Probably thinking of moving back to SG soon after living in Japan for more than 10 years.
