Michael Collier I agree, she called it "a different level of anticipatory processing". Its what some athletes do in certain sports. Its the same thing you do when a ball is tossed at you and you catch it, your brain anticipates the trajectory. It would be interesting to prove the theory by shooting a pellet at this guy, but not letting him see the gun or the person firing. I would guess he anticipates where the bullet will go because he is seeing the way in which the other guy is holding the gun. He probably doesnt see the bullet, just anticipates based on other visual cues.

Riko Wolfin Look on the bright side: If he can cut a 200mph pellet while hardly looking at it, do you really think he'd fall down to millions of 2mph rotting flesh bags that can hardly comprehend anything? He'd be able to slice over 10 heads off in less than a second, and no doubt that when he gets tired, he'd have plenty of support from people who want to survive and are therefore following him.
@rikowolfin49849 жыл бұрын
PieOfCthulhu Blood can still turn you into a zombie so maybe he just gets covered in it and gets infected that way.
@PieOfCthulhu9 жыл бұрын
Riko Wolfin Well, Zombies don't exist, so you can't know for sure. The most likely possibility of Zombies would be that a virus in the form of a parasite makes them act like zombies. Once done breeding inside the human, they bite another to pass them on. As it has never happened before, it is unknown whether or not the parasites or their eggs could fit inside the bloodline without clogging it, however, while it would not really be as instant as getting bitten, the parasites could crawl along the zombie's body, therefore being able to get into a human by touching them with the human they are in control of. However, the parasites, like many that do this to other creatures, would probably need to be inside the creature they control to survive. Without any constantly-needed food or a place their eggs can hatch, it would slowly die out.

I like the people saying "Well it sounds like iron when it hits the blade!", and "Airsoft guns don't sound like that!" For the first point, no shit, high speed cameras don't record sound when they're recording at that fps, it's added for dramatic effect and for it to simply just not be silent. As for the airsoft gun sounding like a real gun, once again it's just dramatic effect, remember that this is supposed to be entertainment, not scientific studies. This is real, he doesn't do it by sight, he is able to perceive where the pellet is going to be, and how long it is going to take to get there extremely accurately.
@hf117j10 жыл бұрын
Actually... a BB hitting a blade like that would sound like that in certain conditions... as for it sounding like a real gun... that... it could be a high tension spring pistol... which is why it'd be able to even reach 70 feet away so easily... or of course dramatic effect. I don't care either way. I just know that this guy is awesome.
@__JimmyNeutron__10 жыл бұрын
***** I don't think a plastic pellet would, if so it definitely wouldn't be as loud, but it's redundant as high speed cameras don't record sound anyways. As for the gunshot sound effect, I've actually used that exact sound effect before, not only that, having a lot of firearm experience tells me that it's obviously not coming from the airsoft gun. It doesn't matter anyways, my whole point was that hit hitting the pellet is indeed real, and he is pretty bad ass :P.
@hf117j10 жыл бұрын
Brandon Koller Yeah. As for the sound of it hitting the blade... you'd be surprised. A BB hitting thin metal can make some odd sounds, and that is definitely within the possible sounds it can make... as for the gun... meh. But yeah... as for the sounds in general... they did have normal cameras there obviously since they could record the commentary part right there, so they had sound capable cameras on hand. But yeah, lol. (Sorry if I'm incoherent in any way... I haven't slept in two days and it's about to be three days, it's 3:40 am right now).
@DarrenNoFun10 жыл бұрын
oh these kind of shows use a lot of foley sounds to make it more cinematic... Its like in movies when glass breaks... Sounds nothing like real glass breaking. Or in docs when the camera is like a good 100 meters away and you can hear lions gnawing on a bone.. Its foley sounds. But with that said, slow motion cameras do not have audio but they probably have a sound device recording high quality audio that can slow it down in post. But even then, they throw on LFE and such to add tention

Decades of training and dedication or natural talent,Isao Machi is a swordsman that should not be taken lightly nor underestimated.
@cyberrasputen17182 жыл бұрын
I wish I could meet this guy. Can you imagine the dedication he must’ve put into learning the sword. I heard he started at 5 years old, and he seems to have practiced religiously. I wonder about his sword too. I’m curious to know if he had a sword specially made for him or if he has acquired a sword from a popular maker. Usually people who love sword to this degree would be quite picky about where their swords come from. I’d imagine his favorite sword is probably a marvel as well. He probably knows more about swords than we could imagine can be learned about swords. His reflexes are very impressive and I admire his ambition to master something so delicate and precise.
@etmax12 жыл бұрын
I don't think you can use the term reflex, as a reflex is an autonomic reaction to stimuli, which I doubt this is. He was at one with his sword and the pellet not unlike young Skywalker when he used his lightsabre while his eyes were covered in Star Wars episode IV. Now before someone gets worked up about belittling his performance through comparison to movie magic, the opposite is true, what he did is for all intent and purpose "magic".
@SocialAnarchism9 ай бұрын
@@etmax1what a ridiculous thing to say and, truly, I mean you no offense. Look, it's not magic just because we don't know the answer. An answer does exist and if some research with the adequate skills and resources tried to figure out what is precisely going on here, there's a pretty good chance that they'd get to the bottom of it. Second, what he's doing is, in part, a reflex. Your definition is sufficient, your conclusion is not. A person can practice and hone their reflexive actions. You can have a person throw a tennis ball at you repeatedly, faster than is possible to consciously make the effort of catching the ball. Over time, your reflex for catching really fast tennis balls would improve to some extent. It seems like there are things happening here that we cannot yet explain but there is no doubt in my mind that he practiced for an insane amount of hours to knock pellets from an airgun out of the air. He trained, he improved he's reflexes. In the end, it may be that this is all it is. However, if it's more than that, then there is still no denying that he practiced and honed this skill over time. His hard work is impressive but it's certainly not magic and it is, at least in part, a reflex.
@etmax19 ай бұрын
@@SocialAnarchism I don't mean you disrespect likewise, but magic to any person with science based thought is not in the supernatural realm, but just left open to understanding. I for one know that magic as practised by magicians is simply an innate understanding of the laws of physics/slight of hand, and/or subterfuge. Again, I think we differ in our understanding of reflex. The method you described is not the reflex I am talking about. That is more anticipation. I once had someone swing a karate kick at my head without warning and I leaned back and pushed up on the leg resulting in someone ending up on their butt on the floor, but by my definition that is not reflex but react..ion. Anyhow, we can discuss the nuances of the English language until the cows come home, it was by any measure absolutely amazing.
@SocialAnarchism9 ай бұрын
@etmax1 thanks for taking the time to reply. Two quick response to the the two points you made. First, on magic, ok, fair enough. If you want to see it as a matter of subjective interpretation then that's your choice and you certainly don't need me to validate it as subjective perspective are an area where there are no wrong or right answers, only opinions. I prefer objective perspective and, at the core, that's where I was coming from in my response. The concrete, agreed upon definitions of words we utilize as a society to communicate. From that perspective, magic is entirely the wrong choice of word. But, I agree, from a subjective perspective your opinion is valid. Second, anticipation is something we do with our minds not our bodies even if that anticipation is faster that our ability to consciously process. Reaction, while correct, is something else entirely. Using your example, I could say, "your quick reflexes guided your reaction and saved you from being kicked in the head." (which good for you! being kicked in the head is no fun at all, I know from exp.) Here, you are wrong as I illustrate. My sentence would not make sense if I was talking about the same thing. It would fail to redundancy but it doesn't. This isn't nuance. This is a fact of our shared language. Your quick reflexes, while related, are different from your reaction. Your reaction was specific to the instance, your good reflexes is something you brought with you and left with, honed through the years of your life leading up to the event you mention either by intention or otherwise. Cheers mate, have a wonderful weekend.

Samurai began training at the age of 3 and were given real weapons at the age of 5. So by the time they reach what we'd consider adulthood ( if they survive, ancient Japan was pretty brutal ) they would already a little short of two decades of experience under their belt. Also, yes, the measure of a samurai's skill is not how well he can cut pellets ( in fact, this would be a useless skill for samurai to have ) - while this is impressive, the samurai who are "far more skilled" would be the ones who had fought and survived many battles while also keeping their honor in tact.

They practice this, he unsheathed the sword LONG before the bullet was fired. His friend, who is a good marksman, shoots at his sword and he does the preprepared motion that hits the bullet as they rehearsed it. Why would he need to bring his own guy to fire the shot....
@msmith940311 жыл бұрын
good points. he probably did practice this act a thousand times with the same partner but, according to your argument, now you are giving two people amazing feats. first the marksman for being able to hit an invisible sword edge from 70 or so feet away and the swordsman for quickly from sheath to draw the sword into position. still, its an amazing feat for both of them. the shot should be taken by someone who is familiar with the sword range limits, so the swordsmen would have to go chasing a BB to split it. either way, that was amazing skill. you'll never see a cut like that from sheath to draw with a longsword.
@Ex0dus11111 жыл бұрын
m smith What? Let me go through this again. The Swordsman UNSHEATHES his sword first, before the shot, and places it into position. The Shooter shoots at the agreedupon spot right in his sword edge and he chops the sword forward a few inches, but only forward so the sword is in the same position.
