It’s not fun, and the foods aren’t that good true, but this guy actually has quite a few good recipes that have made it a lot easier for us to eat some of these foods because we have to. I hated spam for a long time but he’s actually got some recipes that made it tolerable to eat, just changed things up.. Idk this video just feels kinda mean, a lot of these foods he’s “fixin up” are struggle meals. Struggling sucks, making it better any way you can is a struggle in itself too.

@A D How exactly are people from the South sposed to act? My whole family grew up poor in a small town in GA, and we didn't always eat shit food like that... processed meats ain't even that good, and they can be costly too. My mama would fix us creamed peas and toast for supper, or we'd have collards or turnip greens with black-eyed peas and rice, she's make corn bread, or salmon croquettes which is that cheap canned salmon, crackers and eggs. She made her own bread too, most stuff was from scratch if she could, and it wasn't often we'd have leftovers cause there'd be five of us. Ain't nothin about this video is "mean." The food this guy makes is just nasty, it ain't good for ya, and i bet after you finish eating it, it'll make you feel like crap or give ya the runs. There's plenty of good, tasty, and healthy and CHEAP recipes out there that are so much better than this. Y'all crazy out here actin like just cause people from the south they sposed to eat shit like this and gotta be poor and act like things can't be better. You can feed a big family on a budget, you just actually have to want to put in the work and cook it. Oh wow you guys hit the jackpot with this guy. As often as you feature various upstanding Southern citizens (with special affinity for those who hail from your home state of Mississippi), you finally featured one from literally 6 miles down the road from me. I'm sorta pseudo-southern, born n raised in Dallas, which is one of the ten largest metroplexes in the US. However, once entering fatherhood I moved to rural East Texas. Talk about culture shock. While there is very little difference between Dallas and any other metropolis...the differences between Dallas and rural East Texas are astronomical. It's like taking a trip in a Delorean back to 1902. Yes it's THAT different. Anyhow at the end of this video when you highlit ole Pepper's PO box, I noticed that he's located in Sacul, Tx- a town boasting a population consisting of around 150 folks (generous estimate). Now, Sacul is not named after a legendary, respected Native American settlement. Nope. It's literally Lucas spelled backwards. 😁 What adds even more humor to this situation is that I live down TX highway 204 about 6 miles in the glorious city of Reklaw, population 266. And No...not named after a tractor pull- its literally "Walker" spelled backward. 😁 So that's my somewhat pointless footnote that I felt compelled to add and share with anyone actually interested enough to read the comments on a video featuring ole Pepper Belly. I always enjoy when you guys share your thoughts and feelings in regards to the subjects of your videos, including the crazy redneck antecedents involved when they feature southern souls. I never thought I see ol' Sacul mentioned in a video on a KZbin channel with the clout of nearly 5 million subscribers. So just seeing it inspired me to plunk down my thoughts and experiences that relate to it. I'm not sure how many people will take the time to read such a long comment, or even care to do so...but it was cool for me to be able to share a little of my own personal experience and knowledge of redneckdom present in the South. *Side note: I appreciate the longer and more in-depth (in regard to you guys' feelings about the featured content) videos you guys have been putting out over the last week or so. You're projecting the image that things are calming down a bit for ya and you're settling into your new situations and routines. If that's not the case, then you're faking it well...and that's reflected in the better quality of the videos. Getting back to what enticed me to subscribe and continue to stay subscribed for years is a great move in my opinion. Keep up the great work, guys.

No one, no matter how southern they are, eats this kind of thing regularly. It's a once in a while on a weekend or for special occasion when you feel like breaking out the fryer kind of thing, not a daily occurrence. That goes for pretty much any food, anywhere. In the south, we have food trucks that all they do is deep fry their whole menu. I’m talking bananas, bacon, and Oreos, all deep fried. And don’t forget the funnel cakes that are literally deep fried pancake batter covered with powdered sugar.
