Sorry for your loss,Brother. Addiction or Alcoholism, pretty much one in the same, other than the fact that society accepts alcohol and alcoholism, and they don't with street drugs. Ken Definitely Knows His Shit, and Is An Amazing Mentor That Is Passionate About What He Speaks, and He Most Certainly Walks His Talk, which makes all the difference in the world with a Real Person, or a Fake and Hypocritical Person. Program works if you work it. I've been in the meeting rooms since 2006. Purposely got thrown out of 7 rehabs so I could go back out and use more powder and crack cocaine. In early July, 2013, I had a heart attack and stroke from it. That was my last chance from God, and just what I needed to scare my ass straight. I was by myself in my apartment when that happened. I value my life these days, and am working towards 10 years clean from Cocaine. I'll never go back to using, No Matter What. The problem isn't drugs or alcohol. What's between the 2 ears is all Alcoholic's and Addict's Problems. The way their brain thinks. Addiction is a very selfish family disease. I had alcohol on both sides of my family. Always hated alcohol, because my stomach could never handle it, and I have alot of anger and resentment against it, since it gave my Amazing Dad, Parkinson's, that he fought a 10 year battle with, before dying from it. Mom and I were wiping his ass and bathing him in the end. Very depressing. If you're on FB, feel free to reach out to me, under the Same Name of Sonny Seabury. I'm so sorry to hear that my friend, I went through the same experience, I lost my youngest brother Christopher July 4th, 2016, he was only 23 years of age just partied on the weekends but overdosed that day, then March 22nd, 2020 I get another savere phone call from my Father Crying saying Your only Baby Sister Rachel who was the my only sister at only 21 years of age from and overdosed at her boyfriend's house and they saw what I went through, I tried my best to look after them my baby brother was my best friend he loved going to the gym with me, and riding dirt bikes and Harleys, and also loved that I was clean, as well as my sister I kept calling her out on it before it got worse and she would always argue with me and say but you did it too, I said Rachel you always told me that you would never pick up drugs and I look in your eyes and I'm not getting to you because the old Rachel I knew was so much smarter and and always beautiful and was working at BMW there's only so much I could do, my father said I'll handle it because I always put my family first before others, but I try to stay busy and it's hard I think of them every day and it just kills me they were just too young, I pray 🙏 everyday and night for them, and just last week I had to Put my Dog cash down after 13 years and he was the family dog, I'm sorry for everyone's lose and my condolences to all of you, I know what you're going through, it's though I still and will always cry, Holidays aren't the same anymore for my dad and mom, but I have a son and I'm so busy with him at 4 years of age keeping him busy none stop and he's a good boy so I spoil him it's not fair for him not to enjoy the holidays, especially with his grandparents, but I make it happen, God Bless you all...

Amen! Thanks Ken! Kaplan America makes more sense to me now. I have been sober for 23 years. I had to seek a spiritual solution. I am surrounded by a community of like individuals, some of them a lot like you! What works for me is I can't keep secrets, and I can't do it alone, and I can't play god with things out of my control. Im 54 and I keep fit so I can keep riding dirt bikes with my kids who are growing up fast!

I work in the fire service. But I do bikes on the side, everyday I think about making that my career. That leap is terrifying. You’re a real inspiration Ken, to guys like me. Who will do a 16 hour day and still make time to wrench on some bikes.

My family said the same thing to me, I was ask what was my way to get sober, and I said you know what I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired I gave up, so I said what are your options and that's when I put my life's hands into my family's control, because my way of life wasn't the right way, i ended up in a beautiful rehab in Florida where I knew nobody no friends around to come get me, and from there to a halfway house, so that was the best choice I chose, I go to the gym 5-6 days a week and that feeling is like no other, but God is Good you do right and right follows, I pray 🙏 your family member does the right thing, God Bless you and your family...

My father died from drugs when I was 15 years old and I am now 29 years old, I'm not an addict or in a horrible situation, I just feel like I missed out on this type of talk when I needed it the most and I wasted a lot of time not moving toward a big goal. It helps to know that some people I look up to came from circumstances that are not so different from mine. Thank you for the perspective.

I been clean and sober 22 years, I work in the aircraft tech in aircraft industry, there is only right and wrong. I have two bikes 2009 klr with 3335 miles and a2006 zzr 600 11,000 miles both i restored, a truck and looking for a home. Without the program I wouldn't have anything, God bless.

The police set me up for attempt burglary at 18 , scared me into going guilty saying I would get 3 years, so I when guilty, got remanded into custody , I was doing good riding bikes , fixing them up an selling them then getting a better one , I blame them cops for me getting involved with drugs, but I got off it within 5 years, life good, could be better all I want is another crossers, a 125 2 stroke , just had a 91 YZ 250 an a gas gas trail bike , life seems crap with out one

Its a slippery slope. I Started waking up with weekday hangovers after years of that. For me it was a progression and its not good. Try to give it up for a month and reassess. If you can't stop its already a problem. Find a new way to reward yourself thats beneficial and sustainable. The mind is always looking for its next dopamine hit and it can come from subtle things if you can detox it.

It's good to hear the testimony of a faithful man . As you see I sign my post with PK (.preachers kid ) . I don't do that for anyone else , I do that to remind me that what I say and do should honor God . I'm an imperfect man ..no better than anyone else . But I try very hard to teach and study God's word . That's one thing I really try to impress on people... it's good to have a Minister but you must study for yourself . I started studying as a young person and realized some church's shortchanged The Bible . If nothing else read Genesis and you will find out you are missing out on a grander version. For 1...we did not ALL COME from Adam and Eve . THEY ...are the forefathers of the Jews . Adam to Noah to Abraham to Jesus is the lineage of the Jews .God told us that when he said all of us non Jews had to be grafted into the lineage . Also all races were created in the first week of creation . Not at Babylon like a lot like many teach . At Babylon God said he confused the languages only ...it says nothing about changing the races . This is why we MUST STUDY and be cautious of what we are taught . PK
