Hi im new to your channel and i just want to say THANK YOU for recording in real time. Its fun and all to watch speed paintings… however i cant LEARN much from that. Thank you so much for your teachings….. i am in a place with my watercolor journey that i need to “step up my game” and learn some things that i WANT to paint, but lack the knowledge or patience to learn… but I decided this morning that i am gonna do less paintings i feel i can post and share and do some actual studying and practice the things i suck at and or are scared of. CHEERS!!!

Hello and welcome! So glad you’re here and I hope to share new knowledge that you can apply to your own creations. Once I got real clear about what I wanted, that’s when the magic happened. But of course it’s always important to try new things. I wish you the best painting experience 🤍🌲🌲

Thanks again for sharing your skills with us, its really appreciated .

I enjoy both as far as tge music and nature sounds. Also I do like the real time video as it gives me a better understanding of the time it actually takes, that being said sometimes I want to see start to finish without sitting all day. So to answer your questions, a good mix is great.

Thank you so much! And you must have some beautiful country landscape to paint. There’s a couple of videos that show my face. I’m sure I’ll eventually be in front of the camera, but for now it’s just the painting. Thank you for the kind feedback 🌲

Thank you for the kind comment. And I always say paint like you. With time, learning more techniques, and always exploring, you'll start to develop your own style and fall in love with it. Whether that's landscapes or something else.

I live with these kinds of trees too, in the remote mountains of Oregon. Daniel Smith’s cascade green is a natural color for me. I just found your videos yesterday and I love them. I love the nature sounds and your voice is good accompaniment for what I’m working on as well. I love this picture enough that I think I will try it when I’m done here.

Ooh I love Oregon! I couldn’t imagine not being in or near the mountains. I love the landscapes, too. I haven’t tried that shade of green. I need to check it out! I’m so glad you enjoyed the nature sounds. I want to create a relaxing and calming viewer experience. So far it seems to be well received. I so hope you give this landscape a try!

Nice painting, I do like real-time for unusual subject matter, such as reflections and your speckling of the sky, but otherwise, speeding it up isn’t bad. Thank you for a nice sky, it seems to be a light source on the rightas well, without actually painting it.

I like that you showed the whole process. I've been trying to figure out watercolors for awhile but the vids i have found so far only give you a few minutes of instruction followed by hyper speed. Compared to the oils I am used to watercolors are so alien and completely unforgiving.
@JackiePeacock2 жыл бұрын
I'm so glad this video was helpful, Ben. I haven't been too sure what people want to see as far as speed, so I've been changing it up in each video, but sometimes it's quite nice to see the entire process. You never know when a technique will come up that you'll want to use.

Thank you for the tutorial. I love dark and moody, too. My only question is when you first applied the wet on wet sky area I noticed you brushed repeatedly back & forth over the same area. I don't mean when you started adding darker hues for the gradation effect, but right before that. As a student I always hear to use as few strokes as possible to maintain a fresh look. But, because the act of applying brush to paper is so enjoyable I tend to do the same thing... I'll go back & forth many times when I could have achieved exactly the same with only a few strokes. Honestly I can't see a difference, can you?
@JackiePeacock9 ай бұрын
Thank you for leaving me a comment and watching. That’s a really great point, so yes typically you do hear a lot of teachers request that you don’t go back-and-forth and it really just depends on your preference I do both. One way to get the very beautiful flow paint is to add very wet paint to your wet paper, and to tilt your paper and use a spray bottle to let the paint move around. Or you can go back-and-forth like I did here and I think it turned out just fine but really it’s up to you. 🌲🤍

Thanks for the demo of this lovely painting. There seems to be a static, or some background noise from you microphone. As I listen more carefully is it a sound track of rain and birds? It is distracting and sometimes difficult to hear you.
