As a teacher, I have to say THANK YOU for doing little things with Mason like his colors, and talking to him about his toy (close the door, turn off the light, etc.) Not enough parents do that nowadays. You're an awesome mom!

I know it sounds stupid. . but I don't think a lot of parents realize they themselves are teachers. Especially with their first child. I know I didn't. It wasn't until my son was delayed in speech and the teachers talked to me and showed me ways and methods of working with him. Now I have a second child and talk to him all the time. Show him his colors and shapes. Open and close etc.

Really? I disagree. Most of my mom friends did this and it’s pretty normal in American culture. I always did this with my son, but maybe that’s why he started talking early. He knew all his colors by 15 months and was talking in sentences by 18 months, but he’s a pretty normal 5 year old lol. It can be cultural though. My degree is in psych and I took several developmental psychology courses which completely changed my perspective on language in the early years. Some cultures don’t talk directly to their babies until they are 1 and studies show they they have the same outcomes as babies who are in cultures that speak directly to their babies.

There is nothing in the world like when youwalk in the room and there is your baby smilng just because you walked into the room. My son is 30 and whenever I visit him , is been 2 months,but when i do , he still smiles and is so happy to see me . I used to drive 2 1/2 hours every monday to take care of my Grandson and the best part he would have mondays off and i'd see him and the baby.. Anyway its a great feeling.

People always ask me why I decorate the places we live if we are gonna be there for such a short period of time. For me home decorating is just a hobby, it keeps me busy and happy. Military life doesn't always feel like home so you gotta do something to make a house feel like home. Some people will never understand

Mason truly brightens these tough days with his beautiful smile and sweet personality. Here in NJ we’re far behind most of the country so who knows when we’ll be able to truly open up. I was active duty military for 22 years. I owned a house at every place I was stationed. I would upgrade them because I wanted to enjoy the place while I was living there and secondly it increased the home value. I have never lost money on any of my home sales, so just do what you want to live in the home you are happy with and when the time comes to move, you go girl, get that extra cash.

I think people who aren’t in the military or don’t move often also don’t understand that we have to make the most out of the homes that we live in. For a while I used to hate decorating the houses we moved into because I knew we were set to move a year later, but we have to make a home in each place or it will end up feeling foreign. Gotta make the best out of moving so much...so I applaud you 👏🏼

Ok. I didn't know you owned the home, I thought it was like temporary housing or renting because you move so much. If you own it it makes a ton of sense to do upgrades to raise property value. Especially when Davis can do so much of it himself so it's probably a fraction of the cost of having someone come in and do it.

one egg, one banana and a dash of cinnamon- mix together and cook like a normal pancake! I recommend med/low heat though so it doesn't burn!

I'm actually currently watching your last vlog where you are looking for some new recipes. The same brand of that rice you were cooking makes couscous. Make that, add some grilled chicken and hummus. Then add your favorite toppings like red onion, tomatoes, cucumber, olives, etc. with a little bit of oil and vinegar. Enjoy your Mediterranean bowl! Similar to chipotle or cava!
