hi lydia, i think with balm cleansers you want to use them on dry skin first to dissolve all the oil/makeup/dirt of the day, and then use water to emulsify and wash off! But if wet face works for you - keep doing it. love your vids xxxx

2 bits of advice. 1. MINT works great to keep away spiders. Candles, mint oil spray whatever minty scents you like. Put it everywhere in your home concentrating on the windows and door areas. 2. Watch youtube videos while cooking. I put my laptop on the kitchen counter and watch people cook the chicken (or whatever) and follow them exactly. Its like hands on cooking at home. Yes I have to pause the video and go back sometimes when they go too fast but it works great for me and I have been cooking confidently and enjoy it now after years of doing this. ~ Lots of Love from California!

I gotta try out some of the products from your night time routine! My tip for taking off false eyelashes: dip a Q-tip in some eye makeup remover, then gently run the Q-tip back and forth along your lash-line to dissolve the lash glue. Then your lashes will come off easily! :)

Moisturizer will definitely dilute retinols/retinoids (vitamin A) if used immediately after applying them. However, you still want to use moisturizer. Not applying moisturizer will definitely hurt you in the long term. If your skin is not properly lubricated, wrinkles will start form a lot quicker. What dermatologists recommend that you do when it comes to Vitamin A (and antioxidants in general) is wait about thirty minutes before you apply any other serums and moisturizers on top. Hopefully this was somewhat helpful. I wish you luck in your future skincare endeavors.

Fool proof way to cook meat: a meat thermometer. Download a meat chart, put it up om your fridge, and when cooking, meat once it comes to the correct temp you know it's done (and safe). No more guessing.

Hi, Lydia! The stronger version of the Ordinary retinoic acid is the Retinol 1%. Retinol is retinoic acid in an alcohol base, which is stronger than the retinoid that you're using, even though the percentage is higher. The Retinoid 2% is recommended for beginners on retinoic acid, actually.

Loved your eyeshadow! I've literally never given myself food poisoning, and I started cooking when I was 8 years old. I almost set the house on fire a few times, but I never made myself sick. As long as your meat is fresh and you wash your hands after handling it raw, you should be fine. Good luck! The salad looked yummy...

When making your chicken or any meats if your nervous just pick up a meat thermometer they are super handy and they tell you on the back of the thermometer what the proper temp is that it must be for the meat to be properly cooked and voila you don't ever have to worry...hope that this helps! ps...love the long videos!!! Congrats I hope your as proud as yourself as we are of you, your accomplishments are truly that...and those that you should truly be so very proud of! xx all the way from Canada!

Meat cooking makes me a bit nervous too so I use latex gloves to prepare it while it is raw, then I clean immediately the counter and put the dishes in the dishwasher. I have a special cutting surface I use for raw chicken and I don't use it for vegetables. Also, I cook meat in smaller pieces/ slices, so I can always be sure it is completely cooked. I hope I helped a little! Lots of love

Lydia!! I am SO happy you said that you are scared of cooking the meat! I am TERRIFIED of making myself or anyone else sick, or contaminating something else I'm using... etc. Which is why I don't even eat a lot of meat unless it's insanely cooked. Everything super well done. I'm emetophobic (scared of vomiting). My anxiety is better with therapy and medications, but it made me feel so happy that you were able to disclose this! Also, I am that crying person on the plane :( maybe someday I will get to the champagne stage!

I also struggle with a fear of becoming ill. One thing to do for small things, like chicken bits for a salad, is to buy the kinds of frozen chicken which has already been partially or fully pre-cooked. All you do is put it in the oven, and then you have no fear of contracting food poisoning. It's so easy, and some brands actually taste great! Also, using a crock pot is a great solution; it is EASY but takes time. You put chicken in the pot at the beginning of the day and it slow-cooks until evening. That way, not only is it tender and marinating in its own juices, but you also know it's very well-cooked. Some of the more powerful crock pots are also faster, if you're impatient! Last tip: if you're willing to learn to cook tofu (it can be good, believe it or not), it's a great protein substitute that's so fast to make, and you can't undercook it. Hope it helps! -- From a fellow emetophobic. #It'sembarrasingbuttrue

Hey Lydia! Im a qualified skin specialist and the reason you're not seeing better results with your retinol is because you have another serum/aha (liquid gold) underneath. If you put on the retinol on first and then moisturise it will work a whole lot more!!! yay hope this helps :)

Don't wait, do it now! I once hoped that things would fall into place once I lost excess weight. Well, I lost the weight (over three years!) and I realized the mind will just invent new things to pick on. Beauty is certainly not skin deep. Looking put together/polished is very much a mindset and good habits. So, start training your mind to those good habits right away, because it takes time to find what really works for you and for your lifestyle! Lydia is a lovely role model and source of inspiration😊💗🌹

get a big pot and fill it with chicken broth or water and just boil your chicken. they'll stay moist (in case you over cook in fear of undercooked chicken- been there when I started cooking!) and it will be extremely flavorful. It is the easiest way to shred chicken over a salad. :) (or you can do a foil tent, completely sealed, around them and throw them in the oven with butter and herbs- they'll always stay moist that way as well!)

Hi Lydia, I am a dietician and my advice is: don't be afraid to poison yourself with meat or fish, you just have to buy fresh stuff and cook it completely, till the core of the steak or the fish. You can also freeze it for 48 h before you cook if. You are beautiful, but I have seen you stressed in this vlog. Try to get relaxed 😌 Hugs from Spain

Lydia!!!! Get a meat thermometer!! My family has been in the big restaurant business all my life, so my father was crazy .. is strict with cooking the right way, temperature tells you when whatever meat fish or chicken is ready each has a certain temperature also when cooking watch out for "cross contamination ". For example you handle raw meat, fish, specially chicken and you don't wash your hands straight away and you touch other food with hands...=cross contamination. It's not as hard as it sounds you can google or you tuve how to avoid food poisoning or cross contamination. The thermometer are inexpensive at a restaurant each person that works on any food carries one. Love you!! You can cook!!! So much better for you!!

Make sure you always wash your hands with soap after touching the raw meat and before touching your greens etc until the pink is cooked from the meat. The bacteria on your fingers will get onto your other food and could make you sick....doesn't take much.

Lydia, if you are scared of the chicken giving you poisoning, I have the perfect solution. Cut it into small pieces while it's raw, therefore when you cook it, it takes less time to cook but faster to reach temp internally. So you shouldn't be worried about it not being cooked all the way, which is what will get you ill. Simple! Cheers!

An easy tip that will change your life. Cut up the chicken (thighs have the most flavour). Heat up some water in your frying pan and slide in the chicken. It quickly turns opaque. take it off the heat and leave to cool. Add to salad. This leaves the chicken silky soft. Frying tends to make it go hard, especially if you overcook it. Thighs (as opposed to the breast) also can very rarely overcook, so always a safer bet. The Chinese have a method to keep meat silky soft also called "velveting/een. I use both depending on how much time I have. x

Lydia, I stuggle with the same fear of gettin sick from meat! so i got a meat thermometer and stick it in and it will tell you if its perfectly cooked. it's really seemed to help me. just thought i'd let you know. also, you're a beauty! you're actually my wallpaper on my phone. lol much love.

Lydia, I feel you. I hate, HATE, spiders. Last time, I went to the gym and take my shower there. Didn't check the cabin before and saw these two gigantic spiders when I turned on the water.... I freaked out ! People thought I fell down on the floor when they heard my stuff hitting the ground. Love your vlog !

Hi Lydia, can you leave a comment about your Givenchy beauty case? Recently you said you love it so much. Can you explain what you would recommend to have an eye on when buying a good beauty case for travelling? I would really apprechiate a good recommendation 😊

Oh & about the eyelash removal, dab a q-tip into some coconut oil & run it gently across the lash line. It will loosen the adhesive. (:

If you're concerned about food poisoning especially whilst cooking meats invest in a meat thermometer and google what the cooking temps should be. It can put your mind at ease knowing that your meat is brought to the proper temperature (risk of food bourn illness dramatically decreases at that point) :)
