This is the best. Last year the leftists were saying Trump was a joke, wasn't serious. In December Huffpo said they wouldn't cover Trump's campaign except under entertainment. Then they accepted the fact he was serious, but continued to deride him saying he was finished for making this or that statement. Then they said he wouldn't win a single state. Then they said he'd lose the primary decisively. Then they said it would go to a brokered convention, that he'd never get the delegates he needed. Then they said Hillary would defeat him in a landslide two months ago. Now he is neck and neck with an increasingly unpopular Hillary with nearly all polls across the board, including polling in the key swing states of Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. There is even talk that New Jersey and Michigan, formally solid DNC states, will be in play this election cycle. Don Morgan Trump is better for a people with a good skill worse for people without skills although he still increases gov spending greatly so he is hardly a capitalist. More capitalism has some strong advantages and disadvantages. My preference would be less gov spending and regulations as that will drive progress which will eventually raise everyone by every metric as technology is the only thing that really increases standard of living etc and capitalism has a faster driver in technology. However, soon with the expansion of AI the exact opposite much more socialism and big gov will be required, so IDK where I am politically any more.

I was working on Carter's campaign, and I remember thinking that, despite all the problems Carter had, there was no way in hell, that people could vote for a guy that said all the incredibly idiotic things that Reagan did, including his famous "killer trees" remark, when he said that trees pollute more than industry. When I listen to Republicans or conservatives speak I have to ask myself are they on the same planet as everybody else. They never seem to speak about the things that the majority of Americans are concerned with. The comments that they make don't seem to have any relation to the social fabric or the day-to-day experience of we the people. They don't address anything of importance to me and I'm just as American as the next guy. We want to live our lives with a job, pay the rent, keep the roof over our heads, put dinner on the table and sneakers on our kids feet. As a retired person I don't want to have to worry about a doctor or a prescription or where my next meal will be coming from. I bought a can of cat food tonight for a local stray cat that costs almost as much as a can of tuna fish for humans. Mr Trump may not ever be able to fire useless politicians in Washington but we the people can either impeach them or vote them out and put them out of business for not doing a job for us. Where the heck do you get a job and get paid a huge salary and don't produce the results that you were hired for. Only when you are a US politician.
