You are in Middle East, I presume..... those are buried as this video shows. Not sure if that applies to ALL models and years of Toyota and Lexus, but outside of North America, they are in a secure location!

@@citylockapolytechnikeyllcc7936 can confirm just did a toyota camry 2016 in West Phoenix Arizona. Had connection issues autopropad , autel im608 and code cannibal as well as boscom kmax all could not reset immobilizer box through obdport. AKL cable on autel also failed and dealer was going to charge $400 for the key plus $150 for programming. Also the towing guy another $150 and the car HAD to be running by dawn so dealer was out of the question. I had to tear through the entire dashboard as shown here and ecu immo box is stored inside a compartment between the back of the ac motor and the firewall . then i reset the box with autel and gbox 2 and generated dealer key emulator with apb112 mind you this is NOT a push to start but this key uses tr47 keyway and 8A transponder. Was finally able to program at 4 AM. Never doing a job like this again lol. Other locksmiths came to look at it including an electrician but there was no communicating with this immo box.

Thanks for this video. I took apart the dashboard and could not locate the immobilizer. Finally saw this video and noticed it is tucked between the firewall and the dashboard bracket. I will also put in a new one and leave it out so in the future if I need to test I don't need to pull everything out. Thx a bunch for the video.

Too bad that we lost most of this video footage! Because the original footage was in dept and fully detailed. Also because of the complexity of the job required to remove the dash; So far this video (even though is not complete) is still the best to date in guiding someone who will actually need this information. I got the passenger side loose enough but the drivers side doesn't really budge. I can get my hand in there and feel it, but that's about it. I'm okay leaving the old one where it is but can't even disconnect the wires. Maybe a long screw driver to pop it out of it's mounting tabs or something?

There used to be a video of complete teardown online. A guy in Middle East doing it ( you could see the bazaar across the street through the windshield... He had a welded together t handle with a10mm socket, and a velvet turban narrated as he took it apart, handing components tooo assistant. 20 minutes and out! Here in USA, ECU tend to be under hood, placed vertically near left front tire well to attain maximum impact from a fender bender........or in case of early Prius, on top of column, just under the dash... a bear to get to. Wish I could find that video.
