The sound it makes when you pop it off happens when you pull it directly back. You are supposed to take it off sliding it to one side. The top cover is a lid and it just bends upwards because you pull it like a lid. Slide it to one side.

thank you for making this! yes, please update us with the new replacement. bc if i’m trying to buy a lot of magsafe accessories, if i can save money, the better! and since my 13 pro max lasts for a couple of days on a full charge, i would only use this magsafe charger every so often, that’s why i don’t want to spend the $70USD, and would gladly spend $20 for a “similar” experience.

Ask your self if it’s worth wrecking your $1000 + phone by using a cheap knockoff pack? The genuine one does a lot of things no other pack does to protect your phone/battery. At the very least if you’re going to be cheap get an anker or something made by a reputable company. These rip off packs could explode

Summed it up perfectly, I review these products to show the difference between genuine and fake/replica and cases aside (and even they’re bad) most fakes/clones/replicas don’t come close to the total package that the genuine items have.

@@taintandledoucheinc It won't wreck shit lmao. Genuine one does nothing to protect the battery this one doesn't. The 80+ charging is due to the phone, not the battery pack. Only thing you risk is batteries overheating/catching fire and that is rare as fuck, even rarer when this is a product that you'll rarely use.

That’s simply incorrect. The genuine battery pack monitors and charges at a rate where a specific heat isn’t exceeded for the battery, this isn’t done in any of the replicas. The genuine one also manages the battery to ensure a consistent percentage is maintained throughout the day as opposed to the replica that will just continuously charge till its empty. As for the 80% cut off that’s irrelevant as it uses your sleep patterns alongside location services to determine when those charging patterns occur and then ramps up/down accordingly, therefore this would never apply to any battery pack ad the variables will always be different.

It’s not faulty, mine does exactly the same. Not too fussed though. £20 vs £99. Also I have iPhone 12mini. I saw a review that states that the bottom aligns precisely, the fake unfortunately doesn’t, it sits a tiny bit higher. If you had the real one you could stand your phone up on a table!

Hey man. I got my aliexpress battery pack on the weekend. Seems to work well for the most part. 2 observations I wanted to make, see if you experienced the same. 1. The battery pack will not accept charge from a low wattage charge brick. I had it on my 15w charger overnight, and in the morning it was still completely empty, but it was fully charged in about 2 hours on my 65w (which I won’t be bringing with me everywhere). 2. The battery pack light seems to light up whenever I pick it up. Nothing to do with connecting it to charger/phone. Almost as if it’s motion sensitive, which I find really really weird.

Even with the magnet the replicas do still rotate slightly, it is possible to attach it slightly misaligned iirc

Any excess heat will damage the battery long term but the newer phones are better at regulating heat whilst charging. The genuine item will obviously do a better job at this than any clones.

The difference is a clone will just charge at its max speed (which isn’t fast) until it’s empty, whereas the genuine one regulates how much charge it’s giving as it’s designed to extend usage and not just fully charge. It will slowly charge and when the phone is locked it will increase speed as it’ll know there’s no other processes being carried out.

Is this for a genuine or replica? If it’s a replica then there’s many different versions and not all of them support all the features such as showing battery percentage. If it’s faulty/damaged then the percentage won’t show up unless you line it up perfectly.

Thank you for the information. It took me a day to find out if the battery was fake. It came in an original box, with an original serial number, but it did not fit well into the phone, and the battery widget appeared occasionally, as shown in the video.

Fake - yes because it won’t stop charging when the phone heats up therefore battery life will be reduced. The biggest selling point of the genuine one is how it monitors the heat of the battery and will stop charging if the phone is too hot

That plasticky sound when you slap on the battery pack is apple’s attention to detail. That click tells the user that the phone is aligned, especially useful when you use the pack as a wireless charger. Don’t need to visually align like traditional wireless charger.

1- yes 2- not the one I tested 3- depends on percentage when connecting and the device it’s connected to, it won’t be quick either way.

Yeah the issue is the battery percentage isn’t actually accurate, it displays random figures as it doesn’t actually communicate that information, it’s just hacking the animation via the nfc tag.

I expected more from the MagSafe charger, I got my wife one as a stocking stuffer and one for myself (I didn’t open it until Christmas bc I didn’t want her to ask me for one and I would feel bad and have to buy one in the moment she asked) and I was very disappointed with it I got it on sale (70$) but I expected more from it as well as an on off battery but nope I’m debating getting the 20$ ones on eBay

What more were you expecting? This isn’t intended to fully charge phones, it’s to extend the battery life. If you’re looking for outright battery then go 3rd party rather than replicas which offer you nothing other than the look of the genuine item.

It’s not the animation that matters it’s how it charges, the genuine one minimises heat whilst maintaining the battery throughout the day where as a normal battery pack simply charges non stop till it runs out and has no heat management built in to preserve the life of the (iPhones internal) battery.

It has nothing regulating it so it doesn’t know when the phone is above 80% for it to slow down. It won’t charge past 100% because the phone regulates that but it won’t optimise the charging and will run empty even when not needed.
