This is my dream car since I was a kid. They were known as the EVO/STI killers back in the day but weren't legal in the US. The CT20B is the fastest twin-scroll journal bearing turbo alive during it's time. The torque was insanely noticeable in full throttle. The only problem is that the turbine wheel is ceramic. And can easily snap under constant heavy loads. I ended up dropping this motor into my 1995 Celica GT (making it a fwd configuration). With a couple of bolt-ons (fmic kit, intake, exhaust dump pipe, Greddy boost controller, custom turbo modifications including wastegate bore, and billet wheel), I was running 12s on the 1/4 mile. Engine was beast and by far the most fun car I had ever owned. Unfortunately the stock 5SFE transmission eventually blew and put a hole through the engine block. Should had bought a MR2 Turbo transmission.

206 wheel seems very strong for a 240 bhp car with AWD and about 20 years on it.

I believe the JDM models had 252hp/255ps, with a 20%ish drive train loss of about 50hp it sounds about right.
@nipponfever22474 жыл бұрын
Thats correct. I have messured my Stock 97 Celica and got 208 PS. After that changed the exhaust from the turbo to 3 Inch Blitz NÜR Spec with a 100 cell cat and got 219 PS.

Finally an actual wrc version. Most people claim they are wrc but they are missing the anti lag. There is a yellow canister at the bottom right of the intercooler. If yours doesn’t have that then it’s probably not a wrc . Just a reg gt4. Which is still awesome btw
@shinigami_gt_four2 жыл бұрын
I can tell by the heat shield it's not a WRC. It would have a cutout for the antilock plumbing.
@phreshmen3332 жыл бұрын
@@shinigami_gt_four you mean anti lag plumbing I believe. And it does. That’s what that small tophat looking thing is on the bottom (your right) side of the top mounted inter cooler . Non wrc models don’t have that. Hope I don’t sound like a dick, this is my favorite car
@shinigami_gt_four2 жыл бұрын
You don't sound like a dick, but I own an actual 1994 WRC. it was typo I meant anti-lag lol. The anti-lag port actually is drilled into the exhaust manifold and there are four ports that connect to the pod... That's why I said the heat shield,on a WRC you can see the cut out and the far left of the heat shield. This car does not have the cutout on the far left which makes it a non-WRC
@phreshmen3332 жыл бұрын
@@shinigami_gt_four I can’t argue with someone who said they actually own one. But maybe the manifold has been changed because the plumbing for the anti lag is there . And only wrc models had that
@phreshmen3332 жыл бұрын
@@shinigami_gt_four it’s also got the wheels and the wing extension. I mean all of that could have been added later.
