I envy your manual gearbox. My Minister for War purchased herself an MUX to go with her upgraded 21.5 van...but I'm the muppet that has to do the towing...and I absolutely despise the hooer of a thing!!! It's in and out of top gear like a dog with two willies...and don't even get me started on all that Driver Assist crap. This 66 year old grumpy old coot just wants plugs and points, a manual gearbox, manual windows, and a key that you turns. Love your videos brother!

I have the same vehicle. The wife and I just love it!! Towing a 22.6 caravan 3400kgs. Bog standard except for airbags. I tow in 4th gear at 90 ks. Awesome vehicle

Do you get similar fuel economy? Might see you on the road someday. I have since added airbags, centre console, drawers and padded seat covers. Swapping out the door seals soon then should be how I want it . Thanks for watching.

@plainandsimpletravels We took delivery of ours in April. Have just clocked up 6000 ks towing. Airbags at 30 psi and rear tyres at 50 psi cold. Van & vehicle perfectly level. 18.1 litres per 100 ks. The mobile weigher here on the Sunshine Coast said that we have the perfect tow vehicle!! We were 804 kgs under gvm in the 76 with the van hooked up.

I left a message on your last video. We tow with a 76 V8 too:) I laughed watching your wife’s reaction when you asked about the ride comfort and noise because my wife was exactly the same, but she got used to it after a few trips. I hope things go the same way for you:) The fourth gear is apparently much stronger than fifth due the design of the gear box. Our preferred speed for comfort, and, wear and tear to the gear box is around 85 or just under, in fourth gear (unless we’re in a single lane with traffic behind us, then keep up with traffic), but I can understand it’s too slow for many. You clearly love your new truck. Great choice. Congratulations:)

Thank you for you comments. Not sure the old girl will ever come around but atleast she hadn't refused to come with me. I previously had a 2015 79 series. I towed in 4th in that but this just feels so happy in fifth on flat. Thanks for watching the videos.

Such a beautiful 76 series..also lovw that its a v8 manual..good thing abt these cars is one can modify it to adjust comfort with new seats and other accesories..also one can reduce cabin noise too..but still..beautiful truck...

I’m a Toyota Mechanic If your gonna tow with a cruiser tow in 4th as it’s a 1:1 ratio if you load in 5th it will drop the revs buy it will load the gearbox up you could down the track upgrade the suspension to handle the weight of your van it will be more comfortable when it’s on also you can get a throttle controller which has settings of normal up to instant throttle reaction and do a nice multi map tune with different settings also clear view has mirrors that you can get that are normal and you can pull out for towing

Thanks for all the tips mate, appreciated. Only problem is I am not allowed to spend any more money, that that I have any to start with. I did a lot of mods to my 200 series and that's what started this whole story as Toyoda said I had voided warranty so now hesitant to do anything much. Thanks for your input
