I got so excited when i saw friendlys. I used to have one right next to my house and we'd go there all the time. It closed when i was only in elementry school. To be honest, it wasn't that great but the ice cream and milkshakes were some of the best i've ever had.

I MISS Friendlys! There used to be one in the mall I used to frequent a LOT growing up back in my home state. The breakfasts were ALWAYS fantastic, and ooooohmahgawds, FRIBBLES. I loved Fribbles. The thing about Friendly's is that it used to be a chain restaurant, and they used to be literally everywhere. Think Starbucks, but for food, and evev moreso for ice cream. The corporation went bankrupt, but the franchises (at least some of them) were sold to the franchise owners, making a franchise into an individual operation, and canceling the franchise licence. If you look hard enough, you might find one near you, but chances are, they just aren't there anymore. Their main competition are Denny's, and IHOP (coincidentally, one of the Denny's here closed a couple months ago. It was a popular place too).

Diners are my favorite restaurants, so here is the best advice I have put together. Chains are always worse than local, you can tell the quality of a diner by if their scrambled eggs are actually eggs instead of egg substitute, and if a diner has a menu that is more than 3 pages long, it is going to be worse then a diner with a short but specialized menu.
