Wheat School: Late nitrogen pays - even in tough-looking wheat

Durum grower. I don’t want tiller production. 80% plus of yield is main stem production. Tiller detracts from the main and lends to heightened disease n fungal pressure in certain conditions.

Just wondering , when you say 100lbs of nitrogen ,do you mean N or Urea @100lbs ? Thanks

100 pounds actual N, I believe

You'll need to apply 222.5 lbs of urea to get 100 lbs of Nitrogen urea is .45 lbs per 1lb of urea liquid Nitogen is either 28% or 32% formulation

That's always my question when they say lbs.. i use 28% with ten lbs of chloride. So Im going to put on a 60-0-0-10 so i dont care what lbs im putting on.. lbs tells me nothing.. I add the units i put on with the drill plus my 60 units at top dressing plus whats in the ground based on soil samples and i know where i stand..Why cant they speak in units?🙄🤪
