Really enjoyed this. I lived in Newport ( near the docks, down pill) sadly many of the pubs are closed now. My dad drank Bass in the Cambrian pub ( gone now) I live in Canada now ( we have some real nice craft beers as well ! We often went 'up' to the Murenger on Saturday mornings where we drank good ale and 'Annie' would make roast pork sandwitches for the customers. Then over to the 'rugby' to see Newport play ! The good old days !

Another fantastic episode of Craft Beer Bars from Newport lots of great pubs in Newport I always enjoy watching your videos reviews, including your virtual pub and visiting different breweries and pubs. Other places you could visit are pubs and bars in Brecon, Neath, Ystradgynlais which is the Swansea Valley area of Powys and Aberdare. If you do go to Aberdare one pub I suggest you go to is a Grey Trees Brewery one its called The National Tap lovely pub and place very nostalgic when you go inside there. If ever you go to Brecon one pub you should go to is Breco Tap that's a great pub with loads of craft beer on draught including cask/hand pull ales.

Really enjoyed this. Arthur is an incredible source of knowledge of the local beer scene. As an American, we consider anything 100 years old to be "historic". The architecture is truly impressive. The video quality is excellent. Perhaps look into a lapel microphone for better audio quality. Great series, Simon. Well deserved LIKE on this one.

Spoilt for choice in Brizzle. From Temple meads you can either head towards the main City centre area for King St and all the other older style boozers. Or you could head towards St.Phillips and take in the many brewery taps like Moor Brew, Little Martha, LHG and Newtown park. There is also the New Bristol Brewery (my current fave) which is a little bit further over by the main shopping centre. Would also recommend the Swan with two neck (formally a popular Bass pub) but this one is a little bit out of the centre also. Have fun 🍻

Seeing that Bass, which I always loved, reminded me of another beer that we used to be able to get in the States: Double Diamond. It disappeared over here in about 2000 or so. Is it still available in the U.K., or is it gone? Always thought it was great stuff.

I like these walkabouts but I thought this was an unacceptably poor production both technically and editorially. I could barely hear Arthur. You went into The Carpenters and came out of Murengers, this happened several times with no explanation of what went on in between. Was the Pauliner in the Carpenters any good? You've really nailed the review part of your channel, I'm sure you'll turn these around too. When you do Bristol, drink halves.

Ah yes I had a few problems with music playing in certain bars, the Carpenters being one of them, they even had music on in the beer garden which meant we couldn’t film the Paulaner tasting (KZbin copyright issues with music)

Actually watched this one twice already to pick up Arthur's commentary. Great content for just one guy, I know it's difficult to do everything yourself re: Filming/editing, perhaps a volunteer from the channel could meet up with you at the next city? Someone with a video background who understands establishment shots, filming B-roll, camera position, etc. would be ideal, but anyone willing would free you up. The marketing guy in me says to wear a Stoned Crow T-shirt in the next city. Just thinking out loud.
