As I understand your sermon, you compare the gift of salvation (as mentioned in Eph 2:8, for example) to the wedding garment in the parable in Mat 22:8-14. Here is a different approach: what if we compare the gift of salvation to the invitation to the wedding? Then we could compare our behavior to the dressing. This would mean that we could lose salvation (being kicked out of the wedding celebration in the parable) if we do not behave properly. So the message of Mat 22:8-14 could be: even a free gift can be taken back if the giftee does not behave properly. I know there is a lot of evidence for Eternal Security in the Scriptures and that you believe firmly in it (and I hopefully will so one day). But that thought crossed my mind recently. By the way, according the the Ruckman Reference Bible, Mat 22:8-14 is about the Tribulation.
