On average they are harder working, more successful, wealthier, better educated than whites. Good for them. The inner city black single mother with children on welfare culture was caused by well meaning liberals trying to give them some help. Good intentions with bad strategy. We need to keep the government out of it and take responsibility as individuals to make things better. That means that I should personally take my money, time, and love, to help a single black mother caught in a cycle of government dependence and low self esteem to get out from under the welfare system, use birth control, enter into a relationship with a good man and raise a family the natural way with two stable parents who function as one in marriage and who stay married while fostering their loving relationship and providing a healthy example to their children. That men’s tutoring the kid without a father or mother. That means opening my own wallet to make financial sacrifices to help others have better opportunity no matter what color they are. There are a lot of whites living dismal lives dependent on the government in a vicious cycle of laziness, low self esteem, unproductiveness, and unhappiness fostered by a culture teaching government dependence. It is not just a black or Hispanic thing. There are many self made successful people of all colors in this country. Many of them were born into poverty and bad culture. A man who sleeps around, impregnates women, then shirks his responsibility to provide for the women and children he helped create is a result of bad culture. Whether you are black, white, asian, hispanic, Native American, or whatever doesn’t matter. It is bad culture. Expecting the government to fix it by voting for people who will help them by taking other peoples money without any real strings or expectations attached to the welfare recipient is not a noble expectation. It is a not a very well thought out plan or gesture and it is a harmful vote, a theft of others money, and really not very generous. Taking your own earned money to help them directly is a noble gesture, is truly generous, and is way more likely to motivate the recipient to become a better member of society who will appreciate the personal and individual love, care, and attention as well as the sacrifice made by the individual helping them. And it really feels good to help others through a tough spot, to be truly generous and unselfish and help them learn to be happy, successful, and proud to be productive members of society who pay federal income tax. We need to quit enabling ourselves to talk big about civil rights and societal problems without doing anything about it. Help someone become better. Don’t concern yourself with their skin color or their bad parents or what others are doing to make the situation better or worse. Ask yourself what are you really doing to make it better. What are you providing directly to make it better. Passing a law to take money from people who do not want to help individually just creates bad feelings, polarization, and a systemic pattern of irresponsibility and government dependence. The government is very inefficient at taxing and spending. Way too much money is thrown down the toilet paying big salaries to positions that produce nothing of value in an attempt to appear politically correct. There is absolutely no need for a diversity official at a public university or school. They do more damage than good and they are paid to treat people unequally. California liberals think it is right to offer taxpayer funded scholarships or in state tuition to illegal immigrants while charging legal citizens from neighboring states much more money for tuition. That is about as unfair as you can get. I am not racist. If they are good people, with skills and work ethics, I say let them become citizens after a solid vetting process. No convicted rapist or child molester or wife beater should be allowed into the country to continue raping and molesting and beating on people while sucking up unearned benefits derived from the forced “taking”of peoples rightfully earned money. Why would it be okay to let them into the country to ruin more lives and spread bad culture while denying promised benefits to huge numbers of our military veterans suffering from post traumatic stress disorder as a result of defending our freedom and independence. Socialism doesn’t ever work well except in the theoretical minds of the young folks being “educated” by people who who don’t even like our country and believe capitalism is bad even though it has created the best of what the world experiences. Remember life isn’t always fair and it probably never will be. But also a part of that reality is that about half the time, on average, life is unfair to your advantage. So get over blaming others for your problems and be good and help people without demanding everyone else help. Help, encourage others to help, but concentrate on helping not on whether others are helping. You only control yourself.

This is not Portland. This is 1 1/2 - 2 hours south of Portland. And Portland State Univ is a lost cause. Portland is BROKEN. People do not talk with any sort of openness to different ideas, which would be a huge part of the answer. Downtown is still boarded up from crime. It is unsafe, highly taxed. After hiring an evaluation company to assess needs for Portland after an earthquake, it is not evacuatable for the overdue. There are not enough roads to get people out to safe living and shelter even if the roads are intact, and they will not be.

I would push for separation of policies in each state if they have a major city that notoriously votes the opposite way as the rest of the state. A lot of us grew up and our first president we can remember was bush jr who lied about WMD, clearly extended the war to control oil, and it tainted our views on republicans until we entered into the real world. If we would have known that if we didn’t control those resources Russia or china would, it might have changed our opinion on the war, still was way to long and way to many innocent civilians died but at least we controlled resources that would have made china or Russia even more powerful. The military industrial complex in the Republican Party had a whole generation go toward the Democratic Party… but little did we know Clinton already sold the Democratic Party to the highest bidder, Obama and Biden were just a continuation of the Clinton super pack of big pharma, big bank, and big food… now that they are also big military/ pro wars people are coming back looking for a new candidate and new party. Republican Party was the anti slave party but after the civil war so many rich republicans got into politics and turned the Republican Party into a corrupt big business anti people party but now both parties have been bought and we need independent candidates like trump and rfk to set us straight again… but the media makes it very hard for them to even get noticed. Luckily we have social media as a news outlet now and more candidates that would never have been recognized now have somewhat of a platform to stand on… but the government is trying to control that now to and hopefully we fight back.

It wont. Not with the mandatory mail-in ballots. I was a poll watcher for Benton Co. GOP in 2020. When I got there they made me sign-in, which is fine, but then I saw who signed in before me. There were three members of the Biden campaign still signed in that were in the back with the ballots. There were five or so people listed as Republicans who were NOT on the GOP voter rolls who were the "republican" half of the people actually counting the votes. I had to watch the count from a different room through a small tv with even smaller camera feeds where I could not tell what was going on for an entire hour. The Dems have this state sewn up. They will never relinquish any power.

As an Oregonian, only three areas are a lost cause. Portland metro, Salem (capital of Oregon), and Eugene with an extension to Corvallis. All the areas outside the 3.5 cities are vastly more conservative and down to earth..

I'm an Oregonian. A big part of my family came over with the first wagon train on the Trail. Today's policies have made things horrible, lawless, and unrecognizable even from my own childhood. In Oregon they're doing away with any requirements to get a high school diploma - now it just means you have a pulse and existed on school property enough hours. They absolutely teach gender nonsense, even to preschoolers. 😢 In Portland city limits, it's known that if your skin is dark enough you WILL NOT pr prosecuted for most crimes.... But the people who aren't from Portland or Salem still have a lot of hope and common sense. Oregon was made an asylum state against our voting majority because the governor wanted the PR. She also demanded the government come in and stomp on a few citizens in rural OR but when the BLM riots happened she punished anyone who tried to stop it and fired any cop who tried to enforce the law. They're making it the wild west in the worst ways....

These kids just make themselves look ignorant and uneducated. Most of these young people's teachers and professors are stuck inside of an echo chamber and pass that along as knowledge. I live in eastern Washington. I used to love Portland. Would go there a couple times a year. Had a blast. The last time I went was February 2020. Haven’t been back since and don’t plan to. I have friends that even spent more time in Portland than I did, they would go a couple times a month. They haven’t been back in over four years either. Seattle and Portland were gorgeous cities. Now they’re dumps.
