I've seen so many chances for tips: 1- Always make sure you separate drills and conveyors so you don't mix resources 2- Try to have a electric production area and send everything everywhere (Don't forget to protect the buildings). Use batteries to save the energy you don't need at the moment and use it when necessary(automatically) 3- Graphite press is a bit slow compared to silicon or metaglass factories so you might need more of them than the other 4- At the start of a map always prepare some close defences against air ground and water (don't remember if ships had piercing) 5- You can't send liquids to the core, the liquids are for different factories (Ex. water increase mining speed in drills) 6- Before going to another history sectors (the ones that the games tells you) or any other sector, try to research everything (Althought logic isn't necessary as its quite complex) 7- Always try to produce all the resources you can in good amount, this will help for getting more resources at research or sending them across sectors (Have to unlock a lunching pad or something like that) 8- Offensive units aren´t that useful in normal survival maps, but you need them to attack enemy bases. The green units can help you at different task 9- Although many people have said this, here it is: you don´t need light for turrets, light sources are mainly for the player to let him see better at night. (Extra: light sources only need 3 units of energy, while a combustion generator produces 60 units with coal. Extra2 : pyrorite is a better fuel than coal, but is more inflammable and explosive) 10- Surrounding a normal or graphite drill with turrets isn`t a good idea, as the drill will have difficulties to fill the turrets. Is better to have the mining area and then redistribute the resources with conveyors. You can use the overflow gates to be able to use the excess of resources and send them to the nucleus, so you don't lose anything And now some datas: 1- black sand is like sand, but can be used to extract oil with the corresponding building 2- resources are infinite, you cannot run out of a vein 3- the second planet is erekir, if you enter Onset, you will start a second campaign (will be able to play both at the same time). It has different buildings, units and defences, also gameplay is a bit different due to how the regions are. Don't know if it has changed, but if you are in a new area, you can't go to another until you beat or lose the sector.
@calebreinhold698711 ай бұрын
IIRC you can extract oil on normal sand as well, its just a lot better productivity ratio on black sand.

Especially since it's your first playthrough, take your time and do some unnamed sectors first to try out your new stuff and experiment. You don't want to redo a named sector 5 times because you don't know how to use your new turrets or how to quickly produce certain resources. Also: Use Spacebar to pause the ingame time and plan stuff! Literally the most important function in Mindustry, you will lose if you do not learn to use it.

The biggest tip: whenever youre building something or explaining something to us, press space. It pauses the game and is really helpful. The second tip: Use batteries. When you tried to connect the light (about -3power/sec) to the combustion generator (+60 power/sec) it was blinking because the generator wasnt running all the time. However if you had placed a battery, the light wouldve stayed on. Third tip: Use power nodes. They automatically connect to all blocks that need to be connected and you dont need to put generators next to factories. Also, power does not transfer between blocks with the exeception of generators, batteries and power nodes.
@aguyontheinternet843610 ай бұрын
that is not the biggest tip. The biggest tip is whenever you want to do _anything_ whenever you plan or are thinking of anything at all, you freeze time, and you can never get caught off guard. And if you do get caught off guard, freeze time and stay there till you've thought of a way to fix everything
@OnyDeus10 ай бұрын
I agree, pressing space is the biggest tip! Changed the game completely when I realized! To add a minor tip to that: you can move the camera and place building plans anywhere on the map, independently from your player ship.

Great Video as always! Here is some tips on how to save space, rescores, and better common practice. #1 Don't put coal in your core. Its generally a waste of space (It isn't used in building anything) and isn't needed unless your going to use an unloader to put your stored coal to use. #2 Put overflow gates at the end of the conveyor where it meets the core. It will stop feeding the core rescores once full so that it can stockpile in the conveyors and drills instead of being deleted. #3 Use batteries, they are good when you working with coal power as it can sometimes be unstable, which the batteries will help keep const power. #4 You can edit the materials you take to the next sector. #5 You can make premade blueprints that launch with you core. (You will need it late game) LAST; don't mix the materials on the lines. Its makes it hard when you have to pull stuff off to make graphite, silicone, etc.
@dominikrosiak33911 ай бұрын
Something worth noting: air units will target energy producers and factories over anything else even if they are not working. Knowing that you can manipulate them to go where your defences are instead of your powerplant/silicon factory.

Turrets don't need light to function, the reason the flying units got past your turrets that one time is because that specific unit prioritizes destroying power generation and took a different route to get to your newly set up combustion generators; and through their different route went out of range of your turrets. Also you don't need full resources to launch, there are requirements but you don't need a full 4k. Taking extra means you get to start with more resources though, which is nice. There is no reason to keep coal in your core. There is also no reason to keep oil in your core, which is in fact impossible as your core doesn't store liquid.

At this point i think mat actually likes this game and is using the one person as the reason hes playing. It may have started out that way but if you made a 3rd video of it i think you just like the game!
