Is construction harder than engineering?

Many things happened in 2015, but according to Construction Simulator the year was most important for construction. Today I will testing out this game, and using my real professional engineering experience to see if I would have made a good construction worker rather than being the bloke telling them what to build!

In Construction Simulator 2015, you take the controls of 16 realistic construction machines made by LIEBHERR, STILL and MAN with high-quality 3D graphics.

Many tasks are waiting for you!
In a single game, you can work together to accomplish construction tasks. Dig pits together using multiple excavators, while another player transports the excavated material to a gravel plant. In an advanced game, you can work on up to three construction sites at one time and really start raking in money with your construction company.
Are 200 working stages in over 150 different missions not enough for you? The Construction Simulator 2015 offers plenty of opportunities to integrate your own vehicles and construction sites into the game. You can use the developer’s own Construction Kit to shape your own worlds and create your own game content.
You can of course also share your mods with the wider community of fans through Steamworks or on fan sites. This way, a huge community of players can access an endless and varied supply of user-created content.
The barrier to entry into the world of modding is not particularly high - all you really need is a 3D graphics program like 3ds max or Maya as well as the free version of Unity3D.

As someone who has moved pallets of bricks, aside from the shrinkwrap, generally you do not need to tie them down on a light truck like that. You only do that on heavy trucks when you are stacking them. I mean a pallet weighs somewhere between 1.5 and 2 metric tons depending on the brick type.

as someone who was certified, a lot of video games (even simulator games) somehow manage to get forklifts... wrong. I can't really explain it, but they just don't control how you would expect them to coming from the perspective of someone who has actually driven them. That being said, yeah Matt needs some work lol

@@Taolan8472 same. I was certified a while back. It's not that hard to work a forklift a sling as you respect the vehicle and take your time. They're never done right in games. Plus no one ever tips the forks forward to pickup their load.

As someone who has driven a forklift, I can confirm the Forklift-nado is the proper way of flipping pallets that are the wrong way up. Also if the pallet falls off the forks, it simply means you weren't accelerating forwards fast enough.

As someone who has dealt with what an "engineer" came up with I can safely say they've never once actually worked a day in their life because they wouldn't come up with those dumbass designs if they were the one who actually had to work out how to make it work at the end of the day

You can put those pipes straight into the ground, those are PVC pipes, you usually just sorround them in sand so they don't get damaged by your filling material. Imagine having to build a foundation everytime for some 20cm thick PVC pipe.
