Exciting! If I recall correctly “optional content groups” includes PDF layers, which are essential for Inkscape users working with sewing patterns. It was exciting when you added pdf layer importing in 1.3. SVG layer export in to PDF layers will be amazing! Thank you for all your great work.

As someone who has worked on Delphi code to convert HTML tables to PDF I appreciate the difficulties in working with Text in PDF. The way text blocks are handled in PDF is one of the most convoluted ways I have ever encountered, even after reading a book on PDF as thick as my fist about it. Keep up the great work. As a non-Patreon, I would like to see an alpha version for all users, but I understand if access is only granted to those who fund the work. I think it's enough if the beta version is made available to everyone. Even at this point, many bugs can be found and fixed. In any case, it sounds very promising. Amazing news! 😊 Don’t worry too much about text in PDF, Corel took years and years to get it right 😉 /s As for the rasterization, I like InDesign profile per document/object approach where I can (pre)set my values for print-ready PDF or choose different ones for on-screen export. BTW, even in InDesign order of objects can influence quality of exported PDF - I always do bitmaps on bottom, then transparencies, shadows and other effects to be rasterized in the middle and then text on the top.

That's an amazing update! Even if it's not part of the main branch yet these small features are slowly making Inkscape a viable alternative to something like Illustrator. I do have a few small suggestions to make Inkscape better for drawing. The main one being the ability to rearrange the tools and icons on the bars, or at the very least the ability to mirror the UI so the tools are on the right side. I just find it snappier to switch my tools with a quick flick of the wrist instead of dragging my hand all the way to the left side of my drawing tablet. No need to do this now btw. It's a low priority change, but one that would make me happier to see implemented. Happy holidays man!

Can we have snapping assistance while we shift the pivot of a rectangle? If i want to have the pivot exactly at the corner of a rectangle, the snapping assist can help me in that like it does with all other alignment assist.

This sounds like an interesting feature. Have you reported your idea to inkscape.org/report ? You can include screnshots / mockups to express which center you need to snap.

You can already change the size in the preferences, and currently you can change the style too but only in CSS. In the current dev version of 1.5 color changing in the GUI were implemented as well, but no shape changes yet.
