She was working on a musical about her life around the time of this performance. She even sang some of the songs that were supposed to be in the musical during this performance. Unfortunately it never went anywhere. A lot of that had to do with the 9/11 attacks. She was there when it happened because she was working on the musical. That’s why she said she contracted lung cancer from the attacks. There was a Donna Summer Musical that came to Broadway back in 2018 that was kind of structured like the Cher musical with 3 performers playing the icons at different stages of their lives. LaChanze played Diva Donna, Ariana DeBose played Disco Donna, and Storm Lever played Duckling Donna.

Donna and Whitney. Two of my favorite female artists. I would have loved to hear them sing a duet. Both were strong, yet vulnerable, God fearing women.

This woman and Patti LaBelle have had their same vocal ability throughout their entire careers. It's mind-blowing that they have never even had to change the key of a song from the 70's until now.
